I went to two different tesla stores in the last few days. About 1/2 the MX had matrix and the other 1/2 didn’t. The factory might have changed over sometime in July but that’s just a guess. At least some if not most of the discounted inventory may not have matrix.

Different use cases I guess. I’ve had 4 Ev’s over the last 12 years with this charging ‘limitation’. It’s basically a non issue- I charge to 80% all the time unless I have a road trip planned, in which case I charge to 100%.

Just double check before accepting delivery. If the seller doesn’t own the car when they buy the new one, they won’t be able to transfer fsd. Seems fairy straightforward. Anyone trying to pull shenanigans runs the very real risk of losing fsd on both cars.

Tesla has a way to prevent this scenario- buyer must be *current* owner of car with fsd when they take delivery in order to transfer. I cant think of a way you could still somehow get screwed but maybe there is one.

If I buy a new X I’ll be using the fsd transfer, so it will have to be in my name anyway. Many details to consider, including inventory discounts which can change daily or more.

I assume it’s because you’re an existing owner. The referral link only works for new Tesla customers. I think the only option you have is to use the loyalty reward.

They are/were recently under ‘existing inventory’. Obviously inventory changes at any time and varies by region. I’ve seen some with even bigger discounts and many others with smaller discounts. This includes new cars as opposed to new demo cars with miles from test drives.

I just saw a new inventory 5 seat X with a discounted price of -$88k, maybe $80k isn’t out of the question once demand is more saturated. International S/X deliveries from Fremont didn’t start that long ago so it will take some time to fulfill the demand from all the other countries.

I think it would qualify if it’s ever priced under $80k but that does seem like a stretch considering where prices are currently. The domestic battery sourcing requirement may also be a deal breaker but that’s hard to determine without knowing all the specifics of the battery, etc.

As a current fsd user, this comment is ironic considering all the other features that non-fsd cars have had for months that I don’t. This same uneven pattern of new sw feature rollouts has been repeating for a few years now.

Just a guess, but I assume X/S customers buy or subscribe to fsd more than 3/Y customers, because they have more disposable income. If Tesla has data to support that being the case, then they’d be more motivated to sell S and X.
