What’s everyone’s take on when this car might be available and what performance specs are realistic.

I hope this means they view this new Performance variant as warranting its own special release. It better be worth the wait and the hype otherwise they'll' be a laughing stock.

Someone at Telsa has just picked up on that photo under the Demo drive section and changed it back to the current Model 3. You couldn't make this stuff up lol!

Hard to believe there hasn't been anymore leaks about his car. They’re certainly keeping it very tightly under wraps. I think it’s either going to be a major disappointment or a cracker! Hopefully the latter.

Sounds like the earnings call scheduled for 25th January will be the mostly likely time for the US Highland launch.

Matt Watson from Carwow is currently the US. Wouldn’t surprise me if he pops up in the new M3P shortly.

Porsche clearly didn't like getting kicked in the nuts by Elon with the Plaid. So they've strapped on the plastics and said Let's Party!!

Yep and it’s 17 seconds faster around Nordschleife then the Plaid which is an absolute hiding and only 3 seconds slower then the Rimac. Porsche have upped the ante no doubt about it. Tesla will need to respond with the Roadster, the Model S platform is outdated now I’m afraid.

That's a ripping time by the Taycan. Will be interesting to see how it's priced. They've definitely raised the bar. If its reasonably priced they'll sell a bunch of them.

I want switch my order to a Performance too. I don’t want a VIN so I keep my $3K from cancelled Model S order. I ordered 30th October. I don’t like my chances.

Apparently Highland production has commenced at Fremont hopefully including Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous.

Anyone heard when the Performance might be available to order?

They'll announce the Standard and Long range variants in the US in the next couple of weeks. We may know more about the timeline for the Performance then.

That page looked exactly the same here in Australia (different delivery dates and prices of course) on the 31st of August, the day before the switch over to Higland. We still have pre-Highland brand new stock unsold and available for immediate delivery nearly 4 months in.

Hopefully the wait is almost over. Rumour has it all 3 variants to be released in the US early January.

Matt Watson hinted in his CyberTruck video that he’s doing another video on a different vehicle that we won’t believe. Wonder if he’s talking about the revised M3P.

Sales reps at the launch today are saying over 700hp for the new Performance. Of course nothing official.

Certainly some decent size rubber on the back of this thing.

If they can get this car into the high 2's for 0 to 60 keeping the power on through to 100MPH. give it decent brakes and suspension they'll sell a ton of them.

I think with a modest increase in power and a change in gearing we can expect a 0 to 60 in the high 2's, I think this is realistic and doesn't encroach on their flagship offering. Unless you're in Germany using the Autobahns, a higher top speed is pointless.

Yes and why are they still showing images of S and X with RHD interiors. With the title 'Model S and X not currently available in Australia, it's almost like they are leaving the door open to reverse their decision. Also if the revised Model 3 comes out with no stalks it's going to backfire on...

It’s just cost cutting, they don’t want to modify the stamp pure and simple. High end manufactures do it. SF90, 992 GT3 RS, 765LT etc etc and these cars are produced in far lower volumes.

I’ve watched Munro’s tear down videos. Can you post where he mentions this. He does mention that the steering should be electrical as opposed to mechanical but that’s all I can find.

Yep don’t have that option in Oz. We are unable to register new LHD vehicles here so it’s all over. Absolutely gutted over here. Interesting that they haven’t removed the S and X from the Australian Tesla page yet.

Interesting that you can’t custom order, only buy from inventory. Does this relate to the rules around ordering LHD cars in the UK?

With large numbers of surplus inventory of both the X and S in the US and Europe and 2nd hand values plummeting I guess it’s hardly surprising. This could sound the death knell for S and X production full stop, either that or they’ll cut production right back. Maybe the only hope for right hand...

I doubt this. Why have 2 factories building right hand drive X and S cars. Such a small percentage of their total output. The cost of setting up an additional line would be prohibitive for such low volume.

Maybe there’s been a decision to temporarily halt production altogether. Whatever the case now that this is spreading surely there has to be some sort of announcement.
