SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Our first road trip in our M3 was on the same day we took delivery last July. I had never driven a Tesla before. It was a 2K round trip. I wish I had time to learn about the car before hand but the trip was a necessity. After driving the same vehicle for many years there were so many habits I...

    Traded in C7 Z06 for M3P

Oh by the way the M3 OE tires are about $1,200 a set of 4.

    Traded in C7 Z06 for M3P

As far as wider tires in back you might consider rotation. Tesla, I believe, recommends every 6500 miles. You wouldn't be able to do an X rotation. I have read on several forums that Teslas wear faster than other vehicles and I am experiencing that my self after only 13K. So rotation is a...

    A Tesla Nerd's Road Trip

I do too. M3. We’vel done three trips over 500 miles since delivery last July and they just keep getting better. Supercharger time is not wasted time. It puts a new face on road travel. Always located where there is food and facilities. We are usually occupied until charging is nearly complete...

Tesla Model 3 initial impressions (and compare to. BMW 5-series)

Park assist works flawlessly but you must do the following. Drive slowly within foot or so of the parked vehicle you want to park next to. The space must be lined and between two vehicles or one vehicle and a curb, pillar, wall, etc. . You must see a gray "P"on the screen. Park assist only works...

12/18 M3P Got More Than I Paid For

I read everything about Elon Musk and Tesla years before the M3 unveil. I wanted one like I don't remember ever wanting anything, except my wife, as much as I wanted a Tesla. I placed my reservation the night of the unveil and waited two and a half years for delivery. I took delivery on July 6...

OMG - Wake Times from app are SOOOOHHHOOO SLOW.

I had the same problem. My iPhone was also eating battery like crazy so yesterday I paid a visit to the genius bar. The tech did a few tests and reinstalled the OS. It was the phone, not the car! Hope this helps

    Model 3 Aftermarket recommendations

I'm assuming that you don't have the premium audio package or you don't know how to adjust the audio settings. If you don't know notice the right hand edge of the audio screen when you are listening to something. The icon brings up audio controls. The first screen let's you adjust the range of...

Auto steer Not ready for prime time

There seem to be two basic camps. Those who want close to autonomous self driving and those who accept that this is a work in progress and take the admonishment to keep a light resistance on the wheel and eyes on the road. I view the feature as a way to relieve stress while staying alert. I use...

"safe" tire stores for your X or S in SF east bay

The Costco I use in Tucson doesn’t have a data sheet on the M3 yet. They wouldn’t rotate for liability reasons.

Tire rotation recommendation in Los Angeles / The Valley?

Had an appointment at Costco in Tucson today to do my first M3 rotation. Couldn’t do it because the M3 isn’t in their manual and they didn’t know the lug nut torque (175 Newton Meters, not in the user manual). They are contacting their regional office to get all the data loaded. May be a...

Windshield "lines" that won't go away?

My wife bought some Armor All window wipes at CVS to try in the house. I spied them under the kitchen sink and gave them a try on the M3 windshield. They don’t need much effort. A little pressure on tough spots or some extra rubbing. No wiping off. They do leave some ‘lint’ but that can be...

Does anyone else have zero interest in EAP?

AP is not for everyone just as a Tesla is not for everyone at this point. I have always been an early adopter, heck I had one of the first metal plows but at 78 yo I have a lot of friends who glaze over when I tell them the instrument panel is a touch screen. I have met plenty of much younger...

    My Model 3 delivery experience

Nice vid. Did you go through any checklist? At what point did you accept delivery? We get ours on 7/6. I’m concerned that the push for 7k vehicles will cause some quality control issues.

Do I need a spare tire?

You can by a kit on line called Slime. About $40.00. It has a compressor and canister of green slime that plugs the leak and reinflates the tire in one shot.
