Discussion: Floor Mats in Model 3

Just came across this on the store today - I had been waiting for them and don't think these floor liners were available previously? Looks like weathertech, but the design of the grooves done by Tesla. Model 3 All Weather Floor Liners Nice to have an option in addition to Tuxmat and...

    Floor mats included with LR?

Nope, though I don't think the Model 3 ever included that. The trunk is carpeted already.

    Model 3 Updated to 2019.15.105

Hope I see an update soon - just my first day with my Model 3, but sitting at 15.105.

    2019.28.2 (320fba0)

I picked up just today, but mine is still on 15.105.

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Thanks. Ordered July 13, VIN (found in source) on July 24, and then DA reached out on August 1 to start coordinating delivery. FWIW, my Model 3 is red exterior / black interior and 19's. 442XXX for VIN. Oh - also I'm in Ontario, Canada.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

That's what I was thinking. When I saw my VIN a few weeks back was in the same range as multiple people with P3D-, I thought maybe I'd have an AWD with the 980 to break the trend. But that wasn't the case.

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Picked up my LR AWD today! I was so nervous about panel gaps, paint quality, etc, but everything looks excellent. I don't think I've ever scrutinized or looked over a new car so much for gap or paint issues.
  8. J

    Floor mats included with LR?

Carpet floor mats and carpet frunk mat are included. No more USB charging cables or NEMA 14-50 adapter for the included Mobile Connector on any Model 3.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Picked up my LR AWD today, first thing I did was look for the numbers on that plate. Interestingly I was able to spot it within seconds by looking through the wheel lol. Knew exactly because of this thread. Anyway, mine is 990 (as was expected for non-P), though I was curious as my VIN is...

    2020 BMW M3 (G80) 510HP/AWD : How Will it Compare to Model 3 Performance?

The i3 is definitely polarizing, I could absolutely see why some may dislike the looks, though myself I love the look, size and how spacious the cabin feels. For me, being a BMW fan since I was a kid (but never owning one) it was a perfect stop gap to get a nice driving / accelerating BEV (30kWh...

    2020 BMW M3 (G80) 510HP/AWD : How Will it Compare to Model 3 Performance?

Not that I disagree with most of what you have written, but BMW did have some excellent ideas with the i3 (I've driven one for 3 years prior to getting a Model 3). Of course, they designed it from the ground up to be electric, and as a result I find that it is more similar to a Tesla than any...

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Cool to see a bit of a pattern emerging. I’m curious to see what my LR AWD has when it’s delivered in a few weeks, mainly because my VIN seems very close to several of the P- models around.

Homelink Garage Door Opening no longer included with Premium Interior Package

I’m likely in the minority, but I use a lot of HomeKit devices through my iPhone & Apple Watch. One of them is a garage door opener (MyQ and then the HomeKit bridge) with some rules/automation through the Home app. I have it set so that when I leave or arrive home it closes/opens the garage door...
  14. J

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

It is but it seems like just some existing inventory. Best to check at the stores themselves.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Been following this thread as I find it all quite interesting and have an AWD on order in Canada (wouldn’t mind P- but multiple reps at my store insist they can’t be ordered and that there were only a few inventory ones that have since cleared out). No clue how helpful or informative it is, but...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Curious - how did you get the delivery date if it wasn’t via email/call/text? Edit: oops - just logged into my account on Tesla and see the same thing, August 5 delivery date.

    LR AWD Waiting Room

FWIW - Ordered July 13 - Red/black with 19’s and today my sales rep told me they have a VIN assigned but still in california. Edit: just used view source and saw my VIN is 442XXX

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Agreed - that's a good thought too. Set the HPWC to max for the car (48A for LR & 60A circuit) and then adjust it in the car if you want or need to dial it down for whatever reason. The wiring is the biggest thing though. Better to future proof that more than anything else, especially if its...
  19. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

If you have a 50A breaker you can set the HPWC to run at 40A (remember, maximum continuous output should not exceed 80% of the circuit breaker’s capability). There’s a lot of options on the dial for the HPWC. Can even set it to 36A (45A breaker)

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Haha no way - I'm in Stoney Creek all the time. I'll be sure to keep an eye out!
  21. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Mine will be red - and I’m frequently in the Stoney creek / Hamilton area for work.
  22. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Lol hard to argue with that logic! That's actually interesting - if you were already going for white, then the price drop in Canada was 9600 before tax! Damn. So I'll be seeing a white P3 around Hamilton soon eh.
  23. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

With the price changes I'm tempted to do the same as well. I'm torn. Save 3K and stay on AWD or spend an additional 4K and move to Performance...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

I was speaking with a sales rep at Tesla earlier today, he surprised me when he said a certain batch of orders were automatically updated to the new pricing. He said even the ones very close to delivery they'll update the pricing for but it'll be a more manual process.

Tesla will not adjust LR RWD price after drop

Just curious - did you call Tesla to find out about this?
  26. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Well, now I’m torn. Placed my order 3 days ago (in Canada). My build including taxes is ~$3500 less now. And Performance had a significant drop in price, could move to a Performance model for ~$4500 CAD more than what my AWD order is at.

Weathertech mats now available for Model 3

Whatever happened to floor liners for the Model 3? Actually I do see them for the rear show up: 2019 Tesla Model 3 | WeatherTech FloorLiner - car floor mats liner, floor tray protects and lines the floor of truck and SUV carpeting from mud, snow, water and dirt | WeatherTech Canada Weird.

    LR RWD Waiting Room

Awesome, congrats. I just ordered as well, though ended up with dual motor after going back and forth for a while. Red as well though!
  29. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

Lol I did a nearly identical spreadsheet in numbers and went back and forth for a month over which model to get. The SR+ getting the 5K federal incentive just really drives a significant difference in price for it compared to LR RWD/AWD. Did you end up placing your order yet?
  30. J

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Finally placed my order today! Dual motor, red/black and 19's. Hopefully it arrives in August as I'm intending for the Model 3 to replace a previous BEV that has a lease ending.
  31. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

Past few weeks when I've been to the store, and was unsure about SR+, LR RWD and LR AWD, I asked about the LR RWD and got that typical type of answer "There's some around still but you can't order them anymore". I pushed a bit and said "are you sure about not being able to order?" They...

    LR RWD Waiting Room

Depends on where you are in Canada (some provincial incentives can come into play and taxes vary), but in Ontario the difference from SR+ to LR RWD post tax (including the $5000 Federal Incentive) is about $12,800 CAD.
  33. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

No - in Canada the AWD is about $7000 more (before tax). The equivalent dual motor option (same paint and wheel upgrade) is $73,590 (+ 1280 freight).
  34. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

66,400 CAD for red with 19’s. This was in Oakville. There’s a few of them there, you can find them listed here: Tesla Inventory List - Find your next car Those prices include any options. Basically just need to add the $1280+$10 fees, or whatever it is they add on for freight.
  35. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

FWIW - there’s been a handful of LR RWD in Canada, I even test drove one and spent some time looking at another that was configured with exactly what I would want (colour, wheels). They show up in their internal systems as new cars with the new pricing setup (Autopilot included and FSD an option).
  36. J

Any Model 3's with White Interior in Canada?

FWIW, I’ve been to the Oakville store a bunch of times recently, and I’ve seen several white interiors - and all of them were either dual motor or performance. Actually one was LR RWD as well.

View Tesla Sentry Mode & TeslaCam Video on your iPhone

Yeah, come iOS 13 this will be much easier for everyone.
  38. J

How often did you use the upgraded AP functions

That’s a great point as well. Where I am FSD would be ~$9000 including sales tax. If planning on switching the car a few years down the road that’s a significant chunk of $ that could be saved or used in the future.
  39. J

View Tesla Sentry Mode & TeslaCam Video on your iPhone

I imagine another option would be to keep a lightning to USB adapter in the car, and plug any USB drive into it when wanting to view on your iPhone/iPad?
  40. J

How often did you use the upgraded AP functions

OP - I’m also in Canada and thinking about the $7900 FSD option (though I haven’t ordered my Model 3 just yet). While I have had time to try it out, I did like NOA, auto lane change, and auto park quite a lot. But I think I’m going to wait a bit to see what other changes come to it. It is nice...
  41. J

    LR RWD Waiting Room

FWIW, I received the same info in Canada. The store reps and manager didn’t have clear info on whether a new LR RWD order could be placed, and they reached out to head office / Fremont and got a reply that you can indeed place a new order.

Wire gauge (AWG) for HPWC (Telsa Wall Connector)

6 gauge should be good. 3 years ago I wired an EVSE for my non-Tesla EV. Needed 8 gauge for a 40A circuit (32A EVSE) but over-spec’d the wire to 6 gauge to future proof it for possible Tesla Wall Connector in the future. In another house (my friend was building) we had the electrician run 2...

Homelink Garage Door Opening no longer included with Premium Interior Package

If I’m looking at an inventory LR RWD, 330XXX VIN, I think built in April, I imagine it’ll have homelink installed right?
  45. J

Premium Connectivity cost $9.99/month for many Model 3 versions

You’re right, it does include the browser, satellite view maps and live traffic. And I agree, I’d happily pay just for access to live traffic on the maps. I’m so used to it on my current car and really couldn’t go back.
  46. J

Will Premium Connectivity come to the SR+?

At first I was going back and forth between SR+ and LR AWD, and the tax-in difference was nearly $21K CAD. Then when going to the store and doing some test drives I learned they have a few LR RWD models around for test drives, and a handful in inventory. Not sure if they're still manufacturing...
  47. J

Will Premium Connectivity come to the SR+?

I'm in Canada and torn between SR+ and LR RWD. ~$12,700 difference after tax and the current federal rebate. Feels a bit stupid that the connectivity is driving most of my want to go for LR.
  48. J

Premium Connectivity cost $9.99/month for many Model 3 versions

Tomorrow being July 1 hopefully we see some news on this soon!
  49. J

Premium Connectivity cost $9.99/month for many Model 3 versions

I’ve been curious about this as well (torn between SR+ and LR) and had posted about it https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/will-premium-connectivity-come-to-the-sr.156239/ I think that Tesla page is from 2018 but would make sense for them to offer it at one point. This part really makes it...

We don't all have budget for protective wraps & ceramic coating

As someone who’s been washing cars for 20+ years using essentially a single bucket method, my mind is kind of blown right now haha. When I get my Model 3 I’m going to have to make some good changes with how I take wash and take care of it.
