    Tesla Root/Factroy ToolBox

Maybe get hired as a Tesla service tech... or find a friend who is one. But even then, Tesla might become suspicious as to why your car is being diagnosed so often...and without any service orders. Being a little paranoid, I have to assume that Tesla has access to ALL fleet data.

    Lane placement improvements are needed

    3) Driving in a blind spot of another vehicle. 4) Allowing other vehicles to stay in your blind spots. 5) Not moving within a lane to let lane-sharing motorcycles pass. 6) Not moving within a lane to give space to cyclists.

If i was truely rich....I wouldnt drive -i would have someone drive me.

When I was a kid, I thought that if I ever became rich: 1. I'd just eat the core out of watermelons. (The advent of seedless watermelons kind of did this for me). 2. Have a servant pick out only the perfect potato chips. (I was thrilled when I discovered Pringles ...until I ate some).

Are you sure that you don't live in Silicon Valley? Sorry to hear that Colorado has the same traffic/driver issues. Or maybe you should spend a few weeks driving around here to appreciate how much better you may have it there. It's REALLY bad here. As far as being chauffeured around in a posh...

Help a foreigner understand California emission laws.

In general, gas-powered vehicles must be smog checked every two years until they are 30 years old. 20 years for diesel. It's my understanding that government vehicles are not exempt...but could belch smoke for up to two years before getting snagged. Unless a cop pulls over an obvious "gross...

With a mere 5% battery degradation, could it be possible that the buffer is released over time?

Agree. But 4 and 8 years ago, laser projectors were barely/not available...and VERY expensive.

Status of EV Rebate in Latest Version Tax Bill?

  19. Haxster

With a mere 5% battery degradation, could it be possible that the buffer is released over time?

Interesting strategy. Kind of like the brightness of EL displays in the 70s dropping to about half within a few dozen hours, then stabilizing. A big problem; especially when an end-user compared new vs older identical end-products side-by-side. The solution? Burn the displays in for a hundred...

Well... yes...But NEVER in the Bugatti.

"So it doesn't use gas? At all??"

Not only that, I'm, unfortunately, worsening global warming by converting O2 gas to CO2 gas.

"So it doesn't use gas? At all??"

No insurance on mine...and no gas either!
  23. Haxster

"So it doesn't use gas? At all??"

Technically, Tesla's do use gas...Freon is the gaseous state in the cooling systems and air (a gas) in the air shocks (if so equipped).

Garage Door Opener Possibly sending Double Signal

My guess is that I went from a 1/4 wavelength (~25mm) to a 1/2 wavelength (~50mm) to ~double the signal reception strength. However, RF design has never been one of my strengths...still seems like magic.

    Supercharger - Cupertino, CA (LIVE 28 Mar 2018, 10 V2 stalls)

By comparison, here's the scene at around 11AM on 11-28. It looked about the same as it did a week ago. I may have gotten there just before they removed the trailer.

Garage Door Opener Possibly sending Double Signal

Mine has never been that reliable. For auto-opening, I shortened the distance. That helped a little. I also added a longer wire to the "antenna" on the openers' receiver. That helped even more. Otherwise, I still share some of your issues. Often it doesn't automatically close. Sometimes the...

Does anyone drive more aggressive before supercharging?

Human nature, I think. 1. Getting something for nothing 2. Justifying an effort Reminds me of a joke for item 2.: A guy is relieving himself at a restroom. As he finishes, a nickle drops out of his pocket into the urinal. Immediately, he reaches into his pocket and throws more change into the...

Discussion for Model S owners considering moving into a Model 3

I feel the same way. Disappointed that the M3 is barely a foot shorter than the MS. It's narrower by about 4 inches...which does make it better for maneuverability and avoiding door dings. Bottom line: still to big for what I'd like. The new Roadster is ~perfect :D...except maybe for price...

    Figured Ash Wood- Wrap

I've searched and purchased a number of wraps from Amazon, ebay, and vendors on-line. None of them look acceptable (to me). Although the woods on Tesla panels may resemble wraps,or even contact paper, the wood ones are actually real wood veneer. If you do find a good source, please post it back...

    Wouldn't it be nice...

I'd be happy if they could just get the map features and internet performance up to 2012 standards. I finally gave up and installed my 5 year old Garmin Navigator for POI, traffic alerts/re-routing, and way-points.

    Panoramic roof access from app

I agree. In the past, the keyfob could lock the car and raise all windows. No longer. I suspect a small dog may have been choked or even decapitated  or ??? It doesn't make a lot of sense to be able to lock the car from a phone or keyfob when a window is open. The windows do shut down for...

    Panoramic roof access from app

The app on my iPhone still works with update 2017.44 02fdc86. Perhaps the SC miss-configured your options when they replaced your seats. They may be able to fix this over the air without you having to make a return visit.

    Supercharger - Cupertino, CA (LIVE 28 Mar 2018, 10 V2 stalls)

Being that this is in a parking structure in a moderate traffic lower-level location, I wonder if Tesla has considered what to do about cars queued up for a charging spot. I hope that it doesn't become like the mess in the original San Mateo location...especially after Model 3 production ramps up.

    Steering feel p100d 2017

I can't offer a pre-refresh comparison, but... IMO, "Sport" mode on my 90D refresh is WAY over-boosted. Our standard Honda Accord has more steering feel.

    Supercharger - Cupertino, CA (LIVE 28 Mar 2018, 10 V2 stalls)

Not much progress as of 11-21. The conduit is no longer in the orange trailer. Not much else seems to have changed since 11-15. To confirm, the location is on the second level on the street side of the parking structure, roughly above the public chargers on the first level. Unlikely to be...

silly question maybe but....Isnt 1.9 sec kind of harmful?

There are (at least) two issues of concern: 1. Jerk; the "kick" when the car launches. An issue with current "P" Teslas and could very well be one with the Roadster 2. G force during acceleration. If you want to get to 60 in <2 seconds, there's not much you can do about this. A queasy stomach...

Did you guys see the new Roadster 2.0?

I'm not sure how much sense it makes for a supercar to utilize self driving. Kind of defeats the purpose...at least for driving enthusiasts.

    The $7500 option package

The tax credit is phased out gradually. The next phase will drop it to $3,750 (unless our GOP friends decide to change the rules). So, if I'm right, if you buy within the next year or so, the most you'll lose is half of the current tax credit... and the enjoyment of driving a Tesla sooner than...

    The Solar Semi Range Extender

Or a really robust phone charger. Complicated? I agree. However, Tesla seems to have figured this out for their home PowerWall. Of course with the Semi, there would be two charging sources: regen (from multiple motors) and solar...plus maybe a wind turbine that pops up when slowing down quickly.

    The Solar Semi Range Extender

Uh...yeah. You're right. I misread 2 kWH per mile for 2 kW. Sorry  Close-up look at the Tesla Semi "Megacharger" charging port So much for perpetual motion.
