Some notes from SEC Chairman Gesler's appearance on CNBC this AM:
Payment for Order Flow:
“Inherent” conflicts of interest that exist in the payment-for-order flow business model used by Robinhood and other brokerages that do not charge commissions. SEC will look at this, solicit public...
Options gurus: I'm trying to figure out why the calls to puts ratio in ARKK is so skewed towards puts.
Is ARKK potentially being used as a "backdoor" short against its holdings, which of course includes Tesla at 10% weighting?
On the one hand I can understand utility in ARKK puts as a...
White House announces new progress on the Administration's goal to accelerate and deploy electric vehicles and charging stations
Link: Release (Whitehouse.gov)
A good amount of info here and linked within, will work on a summary.
I don't buy/sell options, but I like to check these windows daily/weekly. Hopefully someone with more experience can weigh in, but the quantity of contracts traded today jumped out at me.
File this in the "for what it's worth" category: Short seller Scorpion Capital just published a 188-page research report and announced a short position in QuantumScape.
"We conducted 15 in-depth research interviews, including 9 former R&D employees, 4 leading solid-state battery experts, and 2...
I don't, but it sounds like the two couldn't agree on price. This article presents a fair/neutral analysis on the company and also details Velo3D's relationship with SpaceX.
I've been steadily adding shares of SPFR (SPAC merging with Velo3D).
Velo3D does significant work for SpaceX; SpaceX is a longtime customer and previously attempted to buy VeLo3D. ARK Invest has been adding shares to its ARKX (space) and ARKQ (robotocs) ETFs.
Just speculation here, but assuming ARK sold at today's midpoint of ~$755 (daily range $728-$780), it's possible ARK took the opportunity to scale its TSLA weighting in ARKK & ARKW back closer to 10% while redeploying that capital into shares of Coinbase.
ARKK - 185,712 shares * $755 =...
February 8, originally just after ordering I saw April estimated delivery, then it disappeared completely (not even the words Estimated Delivery" were there) until it reappeared this morning with April.
Anyone else update from "cliffhanger" to "April" or another month this morning? I check every morning, was (pleasantly) surprised to see an estimate, let alone April!
It's also about efficiency. More hardware, less range.
Ultimately, if you can achieve the same or greater performance via vision (and you absolutely can) without the bloat of radar/lidar then it's a no-brainer.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg: Electric vehicles shouldn't be a luxury item
Select quotes (Source - Yahoo Finance):
"The electric vehicle (EV) industry has a friend in the Biden administration, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg tells Yahoo Finance Presents."
"So we think it...
Following yesterday's successful debut of jokeswagen.com, I wanted to fill everyone in on a more serious project I am working on.
It's called Shorting Earth, and my goal is to create the definitive list of persons and corporations who are financing the destruction of our planet.
Short...
If I'm reading Ark Invest's second SEC filing from Friday correctly (the first filing being notice that ARKX may launch tomorrow), it appears Ark has lifted its self-imposed exposure cap to an individual stock, effectively immediately. It's not obvious from the text itself, (link - SEC), but...
That was an interesting week. I probably won't remember it in a month.
I'm angered by the legality and tolerance of certain market dynamics. But I've been buying TSLA shares since 2015, and I will never risk looking my children and grandchildren in the eyes with guilt and regret because I...
A lot of noise has been made about how rising yields may sound the death knell for growth stocks, but the reality is that bonds have been rallying with equities (nasdaq above) for 20+ straight years
Thoughts on IPO vs direct listing? Agreed it likely won't SPAC. But I find merits for both (1) a traditional IPO approach which grants preferential access to shares to TSLA investors, and certain classes of other investors; and (2) a direct listing (as with PLTR).
Where are the "quoted" posts above from? I'm trying to quote/engage with certain comments, as they are amazing and have truly piqued my curiosity, but the context seems missing. Were they moved here from the Perpetual Roundtable?
Democratic lawmakers urge Biden to set tough vehicle emissions rules - Reuters
Two groups of U.S. Democratic lawmakers on Wednesday urged President Joe Biden to reinstate tough Obama-era vehicle emissions standards through 2025 and do more to shift the U.S. toward electric vehicles, according to...
A few weeks ago I asked him for a source on a curious Tweet he wrote. My exact Tweet was: "Source?"
He reported it to Twitter as "Threatening physical violence/harm."
My personal account (my real name/photo) and the sub-account for my law firm were automatically locked and suspended...
