Do you know if they're installing the new MCU? I was told they install newer components that less likely fail instead of installing an older component of that specific year.
So you say you won't bite if you had all the door handles and ncu replaced if you knew beforehand? By that you mean you wouldn't have purchased the vehicle? If so the vehicle would have brand new components so why would that prevent you from buying it?
The door handles didn't present themselves? A big reason why I'm hesitant on getting a model s. I couldn't afford to constantly replace the door handles. I love the car so much but if it was out of warranty, I don't think I could possibly continue affording it.
So I found this vehicle on CarGurus and noticed the price is $66,200. Reason for selling is to make room for a Model X.
It's amazing to see such a high cost vehicle drop DRASTICALLY after the first 20k miles. I'm waiting to find ones at 60k. Otherwise I'm out of my price range.
Is it possible to purchase a vehicle in a different state without registering it to that particular state and drive it to the state you want to register it into?
So if I bought a Tesla in CA, could I bring it back to CO and register it? Thus getting the credits?
And I thought once the original owner claims the credits the next owner cannot claim the credits.
Here's a link in regards to CO credits. Looks like it's not possible for used vehicles that are...
A quick question. So I live in Colorado and have no idea how the $5000 works. Would that be applied as a down payment when I purchase the car or would that be something I need to obtain during tax season? It's confusing.
I thought they fixed the door handle problem with gen 3 door handles? Unless those are only available on 2016 and up? And even then I thought Tesla repairs older Tesla's by replacing the components with up to date components?
Ah man. I hope this is still available in 3 months that max. I gotta wait for my title on my car and sell it before I'm able to buy a Tesla. This is exactly what I'm looking for. White, facelift, 75D, the list goes on.
Does that mean the owner, who sold his car on ebay, has to pay the ebay transaction fee or is that different with vehicles? Otherwise he would be spending hundreds, if not thousands for an ebay seller fee.
I can c
I can confirm this is true! At the park Meadows mall in Colorado, they had model s and model x on display that had a faster processor and vanity lights. I didn't notice this till I moved the model x vanity cover. I immediately noticed a light coming from the vanity mirror and decided...
Yea same with my current car. It said it was clean on Carfax but found out on autocheck that it was smashed up and repainted. Anyway where I can complain to Carfax and state that they didn't show this up in their report?
Is this "B" piece supposed to be better? Has anyone proven it to be better? Is it meant for the newer (gen 3) door handles or can it be n the older door handles?
That's actually scary. How did you find out what damage has been done to the vehicle? I'm now gonna be cautious when searching for a Tesla. I don't want mine to give me any problems.
Have you repaired them yourself and fixed the issue or sent it in to Tesla to fix the handles? Is it possible to request Tesla to re-arrange the wiring so this issue doesn't happen or do we have to do it ourselves?
Which still makes me question as to why you've purchased a Model 3 to begin with. And you receiving it this early makes me wonder if you're a first day reservation holder or someone who hasn't owned a Tesla.
Yea that would make sense. I truly want a Model S but I just don't want the door handles to fail. So it's like a love/hate relationship. Really hope Tesla can give us options on door handles or actually find ways to permanently fix the door handle issue. I mean someone soldered on some glue...
True and that's my biggest issue. Makes me wonder if the gen 3 door handles have been fixed. If not then I might wait for a 3 later on. Wished Tesla could implement a button door handle like the X or manual handles on the 3. Sure it isn't premium but well worth the fact they won't fail every month.
How many door handles have you gone through and what gen do you have? I'm concerned of getting any Model S due to the door handles and makes me want to wait to buy a new one or a 2018 later on since gen 3 have mitigated the issue.
And that's the biggest issue with the Model S. Well the door handles specifically. I wish they could make the handles either buttons like the Model X or manual handles like they are on the 3. Sure they're not as premium as they have it but if it'll save me the stress from having them break every...
So if you sold your car and had an extended warranty on it, you can request Tesla to fund you back the amount of time left on the extended warranty before selling the vehicle?
Does anyone know if it's possible to request Tesla to open all your door handles and solder it the way the video has it at 5:02?
Cause if so, I wonder if it's possible to do it during a SC visit or to request this before purchasing a vehicle from Tesla.
Though I've been told the newer...
My question is the tape you use to apply the cables onto the door handle. If it gets hot, would that tape start to come off? Could you just solder the cable on with glue? And if it "were" to break again, could you just peel off that soldered glue with your nail?
It really makes me wonder why everyone is switching over to the 3. People say it's "smaller and more economical" but seriously, what is really pushing everyone to sell their S that they say it was the best thing they've purchased and downgrading to a 3?
See as much as I would love to buy a private Tesla, the issue is that there's no warranty extension for the buyer. By that I mean you can't add 50k miles of warranty or up to 100k miles.
