    performance brakes

Current Camaro SS or ZL1 and Corvette caliper have a removable bridge bolt for easy pad removal. Also the Hellcat uses the same caliper family.

    performance brakes

The front pad itself is super common, the FMSI 1001 shape. It's the rear pad that appears to be M3P+ unique, or at this time not yet cross-referenced.

    Etching on ceramic coating?

No coating, no matter how highly regarded, is going to stop bird droppings, stone chips, wintertime salt, or sand storms. 1. Yes 2. Not really, only the very lightest and most Ph neutral fallout 3. Dead, and probably the rest of the car too if you've driven it.

This is a FACT Model 3 LR AWD is a 462 HP (Eu) or 457 HP (imperial)

Is that repeatable, or a one shot "happy" number? Wugz has been transparent that he chooses to show a representative average data set, not a peak number.

    Unstoppable high speed wipers

I've stopped using the Auto wipers. Tesla should have just used a known-good traditional IR sensor. OP, I'm wondering if the spray smeared the cameras and they took over with spaz-wiping?

Tire/Rim size recommendation for new m3 owner

Buying it twice would only happen if you weren't sure what you wanted to begin with. The Datsun 510 was a very long time ago, take a moment to bring yourself up to speed on all the current performance cars and what tires they use. 305/30-20 has become a remarkably common supercar tire size...

Tire/Rim size recommendation for new m3 owner

I think it would be a good idea to browse the wheel gallery thread to get some ideas, and also there are some good recommendations in the Comprehensive Road-Course modification thread in driving dynamics sub-forum. Basically, a good track-day setup would be 18x9.5 et35 with 265/40-18 for small...

KW V3 Coilovers now available for Performance AWD

They appear to be $2899.99 pretty much everywhere in the USA. It looks like they might be cheaper if you eBay them from Germany, but then after-sales support would be essentially non-existent. Also FYI, KW historically does a springtime promotion where V3's are historically $350 off. I'm not...

    Might switch to Taycan

If you're in a position to afford the Taycan and you love Porsche as an ownership experience, by all means jump on it. I haven't driven one yet but I would expect nothing less than impressive. The people clamoring on about range don't understand that the Taycan is first and foremost a...

what is your preferred autopilot setting for every day highway commute?

I agree, it seems that after 2019.40.50 the following distance is longer on the same "number". I also agree that number 1 is very conservative as the closest following distance, traffic cuts in front of me when following on number 1 quite frequently.

Model 3 rear door no unpowered emergency release safety

Came here to say this. The Model 3 is the safest or nearly the safest car on the road according to NHTSA, IIHS, and NCAP. Chances are whatever car the OP is driving now is significantly less safe in a crash.

    Service in Michigan

Fraudulent? You're confusing revocable perks with contractual obligation. You're also confusing Michigan's legal ban on Tesla operations with Telsa intentionally discouraging customers. Contact your Representative and tell them their lobbying susceptibility is impacting your freedom as a...

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

The traction arm doesn't meaningfully dictate the toe curve, especially in a circumstance where the traction arm is rubber bushed and the toe arm & LCA are spherical bearing. If you're trying to say you want to change the toe curve (to what?), you'd need to change the mounting points [and thus...

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

The traction/trailing arms aren't adjustable because there's no rational reason to adjust them, unless you have a compelling need to adjust your wheelbase millimeters at a time. No. Adjustable drop-links allow you to zero out the anti-roll bar preload after corner balancing your coilover...

    Competition driving school

As the saying goes, only go on-track with what you can afford to walk away from. Specifically which school are you considering?

    Service in Michigan

Would you need concierge service if we had local service centers? I bought my M3P after the concierge service was cancelled, so my expectations aren't there like yours are. In my eyes our state government blocking Tesla in this state is the main crux of the issue.

Premature tire wear from regen braking system

You're making the assertion that the standard regen differs from the desired braking force, which is entirely subjective. Thankfully you can admit your driving technique isn't optimized compared to your personal desired braking force. Learn to modulate your right foot to achieve your desired...

Tesla Model 3 DM Performance - Autocross/Time Trial Build for USCA (Optima)

Great thread, thanks for sharing! That e-zine article you're featured in is very cool too. Coming from a Hyper Blue SS 1LE, this is my favorite picture from that article: I only have one question for now. Are you satisfied with the Unplugged brake pad set, and in your opinion where do...

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

I went from a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE to a 2019 Model 3 Performance. RYE_1749.jpg by Ryephile, on Flickr I do miss the classic V8 rumble, brilliant MRC dampers, and the on-track pace, but the M3P is so much better as an everyday car.

Range expectation of changing from stock All Seasons to Summer (PS4S)

You can see how Tesla now calculates the eMPG for the EPA MY2020 ratings: Compare Side-by-Side The LR AWD [w/18" aeros] at 280 W/Mi, whereas the Performance [w/20's] is 300 W/Mi. 7% more energy consumption from the wheel/tire combo.
