POLL: Do you or would leave your MS at the airport or train station?

Left mine at SEA multiple times for up to 5 days. I park in self-park garage right at the airport, and not at third-party off-airport facilities which I used to use before getting my Model S. The reason: don't want to valet the car. It's a bit pricier this way, but I think it's worth it...

The Great Debate: Loaded 85D vs P85

Puget Sound snowboarder here. Seems that everybody wants AWD to go to the mountains around here, but in reality we need good tires and good traction control. Number of cars stuck in snow piles on Stevens and Mt. Hood (where AWD would make a difference) is by far much smaller than the number of...

    Used Model S Vehicle History

Right hand drive Model S or X

and the list of "RHD vehicles manufactured in compliance with the FMVSS" is _very_ short: Bentley Azure 1998 and Honda Accord 1994-97. I read somewhere that it also includes Jeep Cherokee, but can't quickly find legal references to it (lots of re-importers, though)

Right hand drive Model S or X

The question remains: what's the goal of this exercise? RHD models are designed to comply with UK-HK-JP-AU-NZ-IN, etc. laws. Most obvious of them is headlights: not only the light pattern is oriented to prevent blinding the oncoming traffic to the RIGHT of the car, but also the amount and the...

    Solar in Seattle/Eastside

Thank you very much for the info and links (and the PMs too)! Will probably start calling next week. The price is the primary concern here and I imagine this will be the perspective we'll be taking when deciding to pull the plug (pardon the pun). Our current power bill is about $180-320/mo...

    Solar in Seattle/Eastside

We started to think about installing solar on our roof. We have a ~45'x25' south-east-facing roof plane at about 30 degrees inclination, seems to be good enough for an average size installation. Can somebody recommend any installers? What are approximate installation costs we should be...

Electric Bill 50% Higher Since Purchasing 2 Months Ago

How did June 2014 compare to June 2013, i.e. how did year-over-year go before you got the car? I'm asking because I think you have other energy sinks in the house. Here's why: * for the 1000 miles/month with 333 Wh/mi you should be consuming about about 360-400 kWh/month at the outlet side...

    New Tesla Seats?

Any 60 or 85's on the eastside?

Compared mine against a 60 on I-405 few days ago. Noticeably different even at 60mph. No hard numbers, of course, but feels significant. It wouldn't be too difficult to get a camera rolling next time we get both cars out for lunch. The only problem: with traffic it's difficult to get a clean...

MS ownership in 6-7 years time

@Perfect_Flaw: few points * reliability of electric motors: if the drive unit doesn't break in the first 8 years, what are the chances it will break in the next 8? New Higher-resolution Instrument Panel Display

Does the Model S handle the Seattle rain well?

Depends on the tires, as any other car. While it's easy to push it so the traction control kicks in on wet roads, the same is true for most powerful ICE's. However, Model S has a big advantage of its very low inertia drivetrain (no engine to speak of, no gearbox, no driveshaft, etc.), so...

I've limited power draw at home to 30A, since at 40A it sometimes trips the 50A breaker. The breaker is pretty old, it might be causing it. The wiring is 6-3, about 12 ft long into a brand new outlet, inspected by the city inspector about a week prior to delivery, so it must be the breaker...
