Any success story of an authorized RWD 75 uncorking yet?

Finally played around with the API yesterday. The vehicle state data request indeed shows "perf_config":"P1" for our S 75, so the performance level works differently on RWD vehicles. As it looks there is no way to get the PerformanceAddOn setting reported through the API, right? Nothing else...

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

Always had an eye on Supercharging, as said, under ideal conditions ours reaches 100 kW for just a second or so, I have never seen any number beyond or even 105 kW, but I guess that's normal, because the 400VDC packs also don't really reach those 120 kW but max out at 116 kW, right?

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

That's odd, the first time I see that part number being mentioned. Nevertheless, as seen, it pretty much has already been confirmed that it does not have anything to do with the battery pack itself, but the fuse and/or wiring harness. Still hoping for an official statement.

Wrong, the service bulletin from last Thursday already made it around the globe, and the VIN database is centralized. I'm here in Austria and our local SC already had all the info on last Friday.

    Uncorking for RWD 75 (Non-D)

Yes, it is really sad to see how poorly this matter has been handled by Tesla since the performance upgrade has become public knowledge in July. :( Not even the service center managers seem to know what the real deal is, despite that service bulletin from last Thursday. The information from...

Nope, that's not it. With the rare exception of the BTX8 battery (85 kWh software-limited to 75 kWh) all facelift RWD and AWD 60/70/75 have the same battery pack with part number 1088794-00-A, as does our RWD S 75 that was manufactured in July 2016.

That's a huge mental letdown, because that means there is no confirmed RWD 75 uncorking at all! Still hoping that more info or an official statement will become available.

Since all discussions about what's going to happen to RWD 75 vehicles have been mixed into threads about uncorking 75Ds, let's finally have our own thread for RWD 75 owners. The info so far: almost all 75D are eligible for uncorking at no additional costs simply by software no RWD 75 is...

Fully agree! I'm not that hot for more performance, but I am concerned about the resale value that's going to take a hit because of that matter as well. We need our own "All about RWD 75 uncorking" thread, because this is again intermixing in a thread about 75Ds.

Unfortunately more like none-existent. The service bulletin was from Thursday, I was at the SC on Friday and was given a look at the screen with the vehicle tags. At that point our S 75 was not eligible for uncorking. We have a service appointment in a month, so we'll see if anything is going to...

@appleguru @Krash Quite an interesting turn. So if the contractors are inside the batter pack, but there is only one part number for the 75 kWh 350VDC battery pack, the hardware difference making pretty much all 75D eligible for uncorking can not be the contractors, right? What about the...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

A general uncorking is highly unlikely I'd say. I talked to our local SC manager yesterday. He said that it has to do with a specific part (battery connector?) that has previously been sourced from another supplier and is now being manufactured in the Gigafactory. Although it's technically...

Has anybody with a Model S or X 75 kWh battery ever seen a charging rate of more than 100 kW?

Very well, satisfied by all the answers, I am reassured that a charging rate of 100 kW is as good as it gets for our 75kWh 350VDC battery pack. :)

    BTX8 battery-code on a 75D... or is it a 85D

Our S 75 (formerly software-limited S 60) has been manufactured in July 2016 and maxes out at a charging rate of 100 kW. I'm just trying to find out if this really is the maximum that battery pack can be charged with in this thread: Has anybody with a Model S or X 75 kWh battery ever seen a...

Has anybody with a Model S or X 75 kWh battery ever seen a charging rate of more than 100 kW?

So I know now that there is a difference in battery pack voltage. The 75 kWh battery pack has 350VDC, however the 85/90/100 kWh battery packs have 400VDC, which explains the lower charging rate for the 75 kWh pack. But the question still remains: What's the max rate the 75 kWh can be charged...

Has anybody with a Model S or X 75 kWh battery ever seen a charging rate of more than 100 kW?

96 kW would seem about right, ours stays between 90 and 100 kW for the most part till it starts dropping at higher SOC. Though I can not see how AC charging before Supercharging can improve the charging rate. Sorry, different problem, this is about determining the max rate the 75 kWh battery...
  27. Tesl@ Bargain

Has anybody with a Model S or X 75 kWh battery ever seen a charging rate of more than 100 kW?

Ours reaches a max of exactly 100 kW at some point below 50% SOC, but only for a second or so. To be clear, this is not about any other battery size, has nothing to do with a specific SuC station, SOC and outside or battery pack temperature. It is about the determination of the max rate the 75...

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

It behalves like any other Tesla with the addition of the extra buffer at the top. So if you reach 0 there is some more mileage left before it shuts down (still save of bricking), and if you charge full it's in fact 80% of the real capacity.

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

Not really, because though it clearly is an advantage, you can barely use it to charge more than the 60 kWh unless you try some (unpractical) trickery. How many people live on a hill? How many people live on a really high mountain? Our way goes downhill for about 1 km ~ 0.62 miles, but the...

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

Would not make any sense, because it is of practical use without downside, but clearly not something Tesla might disable on purpose for no reasons. It may not even be part of the firmware but a sole matter of the BMS instead.

Difference between Multi-Pattern & Next Generation Seats?

Having our S 60 for almost a month now, I can tell that the Multi-Pattern Seats are absolutely great, we like them a lot better than the Next Generation Seats. Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

Coming from a Nissan LEAF and now with a new (facelift) Model S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery, I already have a suitable ODB BT dongle available here, currently still in use with LeafSpy (Android). So the only problem for me now is the required TDC to ODB adapter. What's the status...

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

Yes, that's what this is all about. If you charge a 60(D) to 100%, it's the same as charging a 75(D) to 80%, so for daily commute the outcome and available range is exactly the same. The only thing that's missing is the start-charge if you want or need the extra 15 kWh-ish on the first leg of a...

Regenerative Braking with 100% Charged Software-Limited 60 kWh Battery

That would be really strange, I did my test directly after unplugging. Fact is, if there is no dotted line below the 0 in the energy meter, regenerative braking is available. I have seen part of that area being dotted in the morning lately, but that was because of low outside temperature. Have a...
