Has anyone moved a Tesla Model 3 to Canada? Is it possible?

It's not the government's choice. The car manufacturers tell the RIV whether brands/models can be imported. While Tesla's BS about the difficulty of conversion is just that, it really doesn't matter and I don't know why they lie about it. If they don't instruct RIV to add it to the list it...

    Damaged wall connector plug

The cable/nozzle for the first generation HPWC is available from Tesla -- 2nd generation is not. The price is not much cheaper than buying another unit, however. I had a similar problem and bought a replacement plug with 9" of cable on eBay. I think that if I solder the connections to the...

Wheel alignment for S 85 RWD

As delivered, the Model S has no rear camber adjustment, but rear toe-in is adjustable. In addition, there are a variety of after-market modifications (eccentric bushings, adjustable upper control arms, etc.) to allow camber adjustment.

At low speeds Model 3 is too quiet [Update: now solved with new pedestrian warning sounds]

HankLloydRight (renowned forum member) made up a batch of pedestrian horn/sound broadcasters. If he still has any, that would solve your problem and allow you to produce any sound you wish. Mine is stabled horses at lights, and trotting horses as we pull away. https://ev-cpo.com/horn-instll.php

Executive Escalation gone? Horrible Service from Pomona, Ca

For the OP, your sunroof actuating cables have stretched and are slipping on the motor gears. The Techs HATE that -- it is a time consuming and tedious replacement of the motors and cables (in the front of the car under the dash area). If they shine you on then perhaps another tech will draw...

    Rear Upper Suspension Links

Make me an offer on a set of these. They need to go. The bushings, although used, would be good if you are building custom-length suspension links.

HPWC Gen 2 - Easy Repair

Just got a shipping cost to the States for this unit, and it is far too high to make the purchase feasible. The unit, the shipping and the new nozzle would exceed the price of a new HPWC. It only works if we can ship it to an Eastern Canadian buyer.

    Rear Upper Suspension Links

I have several sets of EARLY model S upper suspension links to sell. These are used, but are undamaged and have good bushings. A set of two (left and right) is $200, plus shipping. Please PM if you are interested.

HPWC Gen 2 - Easy Repair

I have a HPWC which works fine, but this Winter I dropped the nozzle and it shattered. New nozzles can be had on eBay for $139.00. Just splice the wires and you have a A-OK Generation 2 HPWC. It comes with the "flush" mount plate. $200 plus shipping. Please PM if you are interested.

    Inverter Sizing Opinions Needed

There's another point to be thought about. Panel rated capacity is like OEM's gas mileage ratings. Very few, if any, panels will produce their rated capacity. California has a list of hundreds of panel brands that they tested, and they have a table which shows the rated versus the actual...

    Charging limit ignored?

Estimated range is just that -- estimated. Lots of factors go into the estimate. The State of Charge is almost certainly accurate. I often "lose" several kilometers between my garage and the end of the first block on my street, but it's just the result of ambient temperature difference...

    Hyundai KonaEV

I did use the steering wheel paddle and you are right, it does bring the car to a complete stop -- just not quite as quickly as the Bolt. The lack of a really strong regen setting for normal driving, comparable to the (terribly designated) "L" setting on the Bolt is the thing that I noticed...

EV Tax Credit to be dropped by Trump administration, good for Tesla?

Probably good for Tesla, but bad for the world. Anything that retards the transition of transportation away from fossil fuels is not, overall, good for any of us.

3% Price increase across the board

This latest announcement concerns me in another way. The notice itself seems poorly thought out. For example: To be clear, all sales worldwide will still be done online, in that potential Tesla owners coming in to stores will simply be shown how to order a Tesla on their phone in a few...

    Hyundai KonaEV

We've driven the Kona and own a Bolt. A few miscellaneous impressions: They seem very similar. The Kona looks bigger from the outside, but the cabins are about the same. The features are similar. The Kona does provide in-car maps and navigation while the Bolt requires a phone hookup (and...

Charging Issue - Needs Help Please

If you have used mobile chargers from other Tesla owners and "nothing seems to be working", then the Wall Charger is almost certainly not the problem, but rather there is something wrong with the car. When you plug in one of the borrowed chargers does your charge port light up? White or blue...

SPINOFF: Did you test drive a Tesla before buying yours?

There were no Model S cars (or factory, sales staff or prototypes) when we put down our deposit, nor when we topped the deposit up for the Signature version. It was a great and wondrous surprise when it was delivered.

Impact of February 28 Announcement on Current 100D Owners

I would expect that relatively few of us bought our Tesla(s) thinking about selling them quickly. Resale value doesn't show up in lists of top features people look for. I know that by the time we sell ours, the value will be minimal. I bought a computer four months ago and today a machine...

    Park break module

If you are talking about the Model S parking brake caliper assembly, it's easy to remove and replace. There are two bolts accessed from the rear of the caliper. Unplug the wiring harness from the back of the assembly. Depress the little tab on the terminal plug and pull away from the caliper...

Any Tesla Owners in New Brunswick or other Maritime Provinces

All of our Model S cars have been Signatures (All VINs under 00200), and initially they had issues. Many modules and early versions of hardware were replaced, and the cars got better and better over time. I wouldn't worry at all about newer builds.

Any Tesla Owners in New Brunswick or other Maritime Provinces

There are indeed Tesla owners in the Maritimes -- dozens, I would guess. Montreal is the closest SC, and as your warranty states, you are responsible for getting your car there for any work. Transport can be about $3k, and Ranger Service is billed by the kilometer. That also runs about $3k to...

Model 3 Servicing in remote places

    Software Update 2018.36.2

Someone else may have helped you by now, but in the event they have not.... The parking brake is electric (as you probably know). In order to release it if you can't get to the Tesla screen to push the "tow mode" button, you will have to disconnect the wire terminal that goes to each brake...

    HPWC GETTING HOT WITH CHARGING

Heat is a symptom of resistance. Even though the nozzle may look OK, there is sometimes oxidation on one or more of the pins. I charge our S's at 80 amps, and every few months the connector starts to heat up while charging. Spraying some non-flammable contact cleaner into the pin areas cures...

Used Model S or New Chevy Bolt

We've had Model S's ever since there were any (three VINS under 200), and we bought a Bolt rather than wait for the chimera of the "$35,000 Model 3". Remember the 40KWh Model S? How long were those offered? We paid $32,000 net for the Bolt Premier version with CCS charging, we're getting 250...

Seaking suggestions for reputable auto shipper

Cost of a Model 3 vs. ICE

Whoa -- so much FUD, so little time... First, most people agree that one of the Bolt's worst enemies is GM. LG Chem built a nice little car for them, and they would like to pretend it doesn't even exist. However, let's look at the FUD now. First, your lack of knowledge about charging...

Cost of a Model 3 vs. ICE

You know, we are the last people who should be creating FUD concerning any EV. The Bolt is nothing like the typical GM car. In fact, it is the tightest, quietest car I've driven in a long time -- not a single squeak, rub, tap, etc. anywhere in it. The suspension is tight and well controlled...

    "Classic" S (2012/13) suspension upgrades?

Yes, it was the same bolts you have. Like you, ours have not shifted and our alignment holds quite well. We didn't have any bushing problems but when we installed the modified upper links to address the camber issue we needed bushings for those, and in case the fabricated links didn't work, we...
