Black "OEM" aero wheels on ebay

Yep in retrospect, that's what I should have done.

    MaxRange

@Troy how important is an actual 100% charge? I have a 95% charge and estimated range from that I could add, but don't want to pollute the data set. Looks like Model 3s are pretty light, would love to see more.

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

Make a shared google spreadsheet, make a new tab for your car, cut & paste the data table into your tab. Crude, but it should work. From there can export to CSV and slice & dice as needed.

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

Here's mine. Would be interesting to get this all in a spreadsheet or database to look for trends.... FWIW, my steep drop was also right around a 95% charge at about 7600 miles. *shrug*

Related: Can anyone confirm that the OEM tesla aero rims are stamped "made in china?"

Black "OEM" aero wheels on ebay

Thanks all - I wasn't really asking about just that seller in particular, more about how selling black aero rims seems to be "a thing" on ebay. My worry is that the painting could be to hide defects from reconditioned rims or something... *shrug* just seemed a little weird. Maybe I'm way too...

Black "OEM" aero wheels on ebay

Anyone know what's up with the several sellers of aero rims on ebay that say they're OEM, and look just like the ones that came on my 3, but they're ... black, not gunmetal grey? Trying to figure out the provenance of these things, they don't say they're reconditioned, but AFAIK Tesla doesn't...

    FSD going up 8/16

Yes, but I already have EAP. I was curious to know what the current price was for "bare" cars, and that got answered.

    FSD going up 8/16

Right, I knew EAP was off the menu. Just wondered what the cumulative cost was for a "bare" car - so, $9k. Thanks! (So for those who bought no AP in 2018, total FSD cost is $9k. For those who bought EAP, total FSD cost is $11k. Makes sense in some universe) ;)

    FSD going up 8/16

I'm curious, does anyone know what the current full FSD upgrade path/price is for 2018 Model 3's that were bought without EAP?

    Supercharger - Fargo, ND

Speaking for myself, I was treating it as news, not necessarily good or bad. :)

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Measurement is inside the 30A / 240V EVSE itself, so nothing else could be getting measured ...

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

Good info, thanks. So you're also seeing over 400Wh/mile in the cold months, with Feb approaching 500Wh/mile. OK, I don't seem to be an insane outlier ... ;)
  16. S

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Should be able to, yep! If you figure it out please share. I wish I still lived in Austin, say hi to Barton Springs for me. :)

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Mine is in a very cold garage (though it still tends to maintain a temp above ambient.) My friend's is an unheated but better-insulated garage.

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Another Minnesota friend who got a 3 in November 2018 is at around a cumulative 500Wh/mile from the wall.

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Not too much of either. Preheat really only 2-3 mins before departure. Cabin overheat protection is off. Stats-gathering apps have been disabled. (Of course having said this, TODAY my wife turned on cabin preheat, then rode with her co-worker instead, and I got a notice 4hrs later that the...

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Oh, well - of course. I wan't trying to get into the big picture of well-to-wheels or mine-to-wheels or turbine-to-wheels efficiency. I'm just interested in how real life wall-to-wheels efficiency for my car compares to EPA efficiency numbers, and how that impacts cost of ownership.
  21. S

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Some yes, not a ton. And yes, it was a rough winter. :) Since 4/25 my numbers have been: Wall meter: 371 Wh/mile: 129 kWh for 348 miles driven Car: 267 Wh/mile: 93 kWh for 348 miles driven
  22. S

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

Whether it's "MUCH" better depends on fuel costs and the mpg you're comparing to. 543 Wh/mile is 1.84 miles/kWh. At $0.15/kWh that's 8.2 cents/mile. A 30mpg car with gas at $2.90 is $2.90/30 = 9.7 cents/mile. So it's a bit better than an average car for me. Off peak charging rates would...

M3 MR vs Chevy Bolt (energy consumption)

I'll add my numbers, for a Model 3 LR AWD we bought at the very end of 2018. Wall meter: 543 Wh/mile: 2262 kWh for 4164 miles driven Car: 363 Wh/mile: 1507 kWh for 4164 miles driven All but 2 charger sessions were at home, so actual energy in is only slightly higher than the 2262kWh above...

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

I understand all that. I'm asking.... begging ... to see what anyone else's actual numbers look like. :)
  25. S

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

I'd like to get a sense of what's normal before speculating on causes... It'd be great if anyone could just provide their numbers, either from teslafi ("total kwh used" on the charging summary, divided by odometer), or from the evse meter if you have one. :)
  26. S

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

FWIW, ours is a daily driver, 20-30 miles/day. Not a ton of preheating or sentry mode use.
  27. S

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

To recap: I'm not asking about charging efficiency per se. I'm asking about net energy use efficiency in terms of Wh/mile - total kWh consumed from the wall divided by total miles driven.
  28. S

What's your Wh/mile efficiency from the wall?

I got a Model 3 LR AWD at the end of 2018, and I've been tracking kWh used from the wall, based on the meter built into my EVSE. So far I'm at 2262kWh for 4164 miles driven (with only a very small amount of charging elsewhere). This gives me 543 Wh/mile, while the car odometer reports 1507kWh...

I'm a moron - cannot get cover off wall charger

Mine was a bear as well. Felt like it'd break, but didn't. (The fingernail AND the cover...) ;) Took a bit of work to get it off.
