You seem to have some sort of mental block than that prevents you from accepting that Lidar/Map and Vision/Learning are not mutually exclusive. They are not. And many companies doing both: like Waymo.

Poll: When Will The First Tesla Robo-taxi Hit The Roads?

You mean so drivers could train their replacement? I'm sure they would love that.

Hypothetical: what FSD hardware would you put on a car?

I don't see how Teslas will ever be able to reliably detect cross-traffic at intersections with the current sensor suite. The front fender cameras are angled backwards and the door pillar cameras are too far back on the vehicle. So at best, there is only monocular vision with no redundancy. I...

Yeah this isn't true. You can argue about scale, but Waymo and others are also training "deep learning" neural nets.

Does anybody know if the Tesla hardware 3 computer has audio input? If not to enhance capability, It may be an eventual regulatory requirement for AVs to, at least, be able to detect and respond to emergency vehicle sirens.

Why not? I'm not aware of any serious autonomous vehicle program that doesn't also employ machine learning.

Does anybody know if Tesla's NN model the same globally (true general purpose solution)? If so, are there plans for country-specific localization? Considering the differing traffic laws, road signs, road markings, driver etiquette, etc. etc, I would think country-specific NN models is the way to...
