I know this is an older thread but I just got my M3 recently and experienced identical behavior with door unlocking using phone Bluetooth. I use Samsung Galaxy S7. I will continue to read rest of the thread but wondering if it is indeed iPhone vs Android thing or some Tesla quirk/feature.

Good thing you were able to identify the root cause. In my case, I do not have any USB drive plugged to the device. Now I have to explore this feature you just mentioned.

Prior to my M3 delivery in late May, I experienced a similar situation. After the "Out of Stock" condition was removed for 14-50 adapter, I was able to place the order on 5/16, got order shipping notification on 5/27 and received the adapter last week on 6/5. Hope this helps.

I don't think NJ has any rebate for such installs. Haven't seen that mentioned anywhere before. That's a good incentive for sure.

Here are the images from the back of the outlet (as much as I could pull the outlet after opening the 2 holding screws). I also checked the voltage ...it is 250v for slots on sides and 120v from each of two sides to the bottom slot). Hope this gives you all some insight into what I am facing.
