Will Tesla be able to deliver FSD with HW3.0 and current Model 3 sensor suite, ever?

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here (although I've only read the last few pages so excuse me if it has) is large potholes and small debris in the road. It's possible that FSD will eventually be able to avoid debris (although how small?) but I just can't see how it's going to detect large...

    2020.12.11.1 and phantom alarm triggers

I had the the same thing happen. Was parked in a quiet spot supercharging. Alarm went off. I was about one minute away from the car. Came back, watched the Sentry footage and there was no reason for it to go off. Hasn't gone off again since but that was only a week ago so I'll let you know if it...

Paint Protection Film - Worth It?

Yes exactly, it's all well and good saying 'i'll just pay for repairs' but at what point do you do that? After every chip or wait until you get a few and drive around with the car not looking pristine for a bit? Only to have to do it all again in a year. It's the convenience you're paying for...

    Parking brake function degraded warning

Sorry I should of updated this thread. My car ended up in service for over 2 weeks. It turned out it needed a new ECU so I'd get your car checked out Tomgee

I ended up just getting a wifi booster that I plug into the garage when there is a software update. We've also got Sky Q which is kind of like a Wifi Mesh and that does seem to get picked up but I have to park the car near to the house, as in around 5 metres aways.

    Passenger reactions to full acceleration

'In 4 seconds I am a 1/4 mile if front of them ' Wow have to you got the new Space X package on your car?? :)
  7. B

I drive my Model X (non Performance) more spirited than I ever drove my Performance Model 3

Yeah I'm confused too. The point of an accelerator pedal is so you can control how fast you want to go. I can happily pick how fast I want to accelerate in the car. I can accelerate from 0-60 in 6 seconds or 10 seconds, if I feel like it, I just don't push down on the pedal as much. But as...

Lost 40 miles range on a 11mile regular journey?? New Model 3

Ok so today I gave a friend a lift to pick up his Model 3 in my model 3 performance with the 20 inch alloy wheels. The service centre is only 10 miles or so and I left to go on a charge of 255 miles. The journey there was just regular speeds ranging from 20 - 50 miles per hour. There was a bit...

    My Sentry Mini-Rant

It also might just be UK based, I get the impression that they've got US roads mapped a lot better than foreign roads so maybe they now concentrating on these areas.
  10. B

    My Sentry Mini-Rant

Well I got a notification through my Tesla after I'd downloaded the latest firmware (not V10) it came up with a couple of messages outlining what I mentioned above. So my source is directly from Tesla, although I didn't think to capture an image, so unfortunately, unless someone else can back...

    My Sentry Mini-Rant

Only if you opted into their video data collecting for full self driving agreement. This allows them to use your video footage for their AI to learn from, they say that no personal data is collected however as a good will gesture they're storing the data on the cloud for 24 hours (I think it...

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Ah, thanks for the tip. I know we should read all the manual but in reality I just don't have time to read it all so only read bits that I have no idea how to use properly. Never thought the turn signal would be one of them.
  13. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Yeah I get this a lot too, always find I end up indicating the other direction because I have to try and manually cancel the turn signal as it doesn't seem to automatically turn off a lot of the time.
  14. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Yeah I'm sure they thought about this and it was the best solution but I just haven't got used to yet and yep I came from a stick shift.

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

That's still awesome bet you love your job?

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Good idea, thanks for the tip.
  17. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Yes I agree, I'm not saying they should change the direction, that's just my view on why I think I'm getting the direction wrong. But I do think they should add an option to be alerted when going into reverse.
  18. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Ha ha, plus if you did hit a lamp post in that I doubt you'd be that bothered.
  19. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Wait....are you saying you're a Typhoon pilot. If so that's amazing. I don't think I use reverse enough for a one off warning every time I do use it to be annoying. And like I mention you could always have the option to turn it off.
  20. B

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

Yes Ive heard this but I've never used one of those before so maybe that's why it's taking me longer to get used to. My Brother made a good point that cars that have 'creep' give you that for-warning of what gear you're in because the car will naturally start to move very slowly in that...

Reverse warning and/or auto stop feature request

So this might just be me but I find the drive/reverse stick really counter intuitive. For me it feels far more natural to push up to go forwards and down to go backwards. I mean if you were going to direct someone on the street you would naturally move your arm forward and upwards to direct...

Paint Protection Film - Worth It?

Mine was £3060 for full body. If you want you can always just get the front and wing mirrors done for just over £1000.

Paint Protection Film - Worth It?

I know what you mean. I've had my car since the 29th of June but for half of that time it was in the service centre. Finally got it back to then have to hand it over for another three days for the wrap. Hopefully it's all mine now :)
  24. B

Paint Protection Film - Worth It?

Yes mine cost £3060 using Xpel PPF full body. A company called Creative FX in Bromley south London installed it. I'm very pleased with it. They wrap into certain areas like the door seals but other areas do have a very small border, for example around headlights and badges. You can see the...

    Model 3 UK Radio

Wow, small world! I'm guessing you work for the rental company opposite? I'm picking the car up Friday around 5ish so if you're about then I could take you for a quick drive?

    Model 3 UK Radio

Is that going to be for existing owners as well or just new ones?
  27. B

    Model 3 UK Radio

Hi Rajanm. I'm getting the whole car wrapped in clear PPF which I think is a good idea as I already have a very small chip in the lower front door. They use Xpel which apparently is the best on the market...although I guess they're going to say that. But I think Creative FX are one of the best...

    Model 3 UK Radio

Will do. I recored a video this morning when I went in and they were very kind to go through the procedure with me. Was also cool to see a very nice lambo there. It would be cool to actually record them putting the wrap on but they're doing that tomorrow and I'm out all day. The company is...

    Model 3 UK Radio

It's hard to comment at the moment because for the first two and half weeks of having the car it had issues due to the ECU problem mentioned above. DAB radio would constantly crash out or the sound would turn to digital gibberish and FM was no better. I've only had the car back two days and...

    Model 3 UK Radio

Yep like DB says it's got those three options. I was having a ton of issues with my spotify, well I say a ton what I actually mean is that it would play for about 5 seconds and then cut out. I thought I was just in poor signal areas but it turns out it was just one of the many issues connected...

Hey Vanilla, sorry forgot to answer the second part of your question. I use Premiere Pro to blur out the number plates. It has a tracking feature which helps save a bit of time but it's still a pain in the arse.

Yeah I find it doesn't attract much attention. It's mainly younger people that notice it and I think the asian population seem more aware as I've had a few asian guys come up and chat about the car.

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

I was the same. Just kept thinking of all the cool things that it 'could' bring. But once I remembered that £5000 is a lot of money that could be used for more useful things right now I dropped it. So far haven't regretted it.
  38. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

That's good to know. Yes so to sum up I think I'm getting about 255 - 260 miles range from the battery if travelling on the motorway for the majority of the journey.
  39. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

What about the dashcam, any ideas how much that would use?
  40. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

Actually scrap that I had 290 mile charge when I begun the journey so that works out that I'd probably get about 255 maybe 260 if I literally drove from full to empty. So basically ignore my 220 range that was based starting with a 290 mile range and finishing with a 30 mile range.
  41. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

I keep between 75 and 80. I recorded a journey and just looked at the exact figures and distance. So I traveled 221 miles before I got to a super charger with 30 miles range left. So yes it's more like 240 mile range as I'm pretty sure that remaining 30 miles wouldn't actually be 30 miles and...
  42. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

Because I had an option that allows me to navigate off of motorways. I still have to activate the turn signal but the car will then look for a gap and go into that lane. Has the mad max mode and all that. Now I did wonder if they accidentally never took FSD off as I had it in my order until...
  43. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

Well I don't know but surely if it's draining the battery as much as it does when parked then it's going to be draining the battery while driving. I'm including the dash cam mode in this by the way .
  44. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

Yes but do they include having aircon on full blast at lowest setting as well as having sentry mode active?
  45. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

I need to do a proper test, it might be 240 but it definitely isn't near to 310. ALthough the model S I'm driving at the moment seems to get pretty much a charge mile to a real mile. So maybe I was just booting about too much in the Model 3. I'll try to do a real test once I get my car back.
  46. B

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

I ElecTED. So to answer your questions. What has delighted you? Got to be the acceleration and handling (I have an M3P) . Compared to a two year old Model S it feels like a real jump up. What has disappointed you? I'd heard really good things about the glass roof making the car feel so...

One single reverse light on the model 3

Ha ha, sorry didn't mean to piss on your parade. It is a cool idea and there may not be any legal issues, in which case I'd be for it , as long as it was still very obvious to other road users and public that you were reversing.
  48. B

One single reverse light on the model 3

I don't think legally you'd be allowed to do that. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a law on what lux a reverse light needs to emit.
  49. B

One single reverse light on the model 3

Yes although if the reverse light is on as well won't that blow out the IR too much to be useful? One area I do think they should have a light is around the charge port entry holes. I know they have the Tesla logo flashing but last night it was really dark and it was difficult to see exactly...

One single reverse light on the model 3

I agree, although my camera very rarely works at the moment due to a bug in the firmware.
