I had to pay $40 to get the detail of the first as it said it had two items in detailed history. The second vin said 0 reported events so I did not pay for the report.

I checked the order agreement and the document still shows the price adjustment. I'll have to verify both at delivery. Still feels strange buying a car unseen and so much mystery with no photos etc.

Interesting update today - after being assigned a delivery date the VIN in my Tesla account changed from a 2018 vin to a 2019 with 231xxx. Will be interesting to see what I actually get this week.

Interesting update - after being assigned a delivery date the VIN on the Model 3 Performance changed to be a 2019 model with 231xxx vs. the 2018 with 078xxx. With this VIN Carfax is reporting 0 records.

v Thank you for your response! I'll talk to the delivery team again tomorrow and see if they can get me the service history. Regarding the Tax Credit I'll see if they can provide more clarity.

Hi All - Found this thread after starting a similar process but not sure how you got the history on the car. I just placed a deposit on a 2018 Black Model 3 Performance with white interior and I had them drop the FSD. The car has ~1,000 miles which I'm assuming means it was returned or a demo...

The FSD is $6k now or would be $8k if added after delivery. Seems like a lot for something I'm not sure regulators would approve for a while but maybe I'm missing the true benefit. I would never have the car in a taxi/uber-like service.

Good call on the Carfax - looks like it was registered in Nevada. The Carfax was clean but given that it was registered I will be contacting Tesla to ensure there is no issues with the registration/tax credit.

The sales rep said the car was manufactured in October - do you know if the ones in this time range had the grey headliner or were there any changes since? It was a bit on an impulse but I was looking at ordering a performance or a long range dual motor so I jumped on it.

I confirmed with them that it is sold as new so I will get the $3,750 federal and $5,000 Colorado tax credits.

I should note the car had full self driving option but I had them drop that off for now. So the car is black, white interior, and basic autopilot for $51,700 including the $1,200 fee.

I've been questioning my decision to place a deposit on a 2018 Model 3 Performance with ~1k miles. The local Tesla store called on an opportunity for a "great deal" offering the unit with a $10,700 price adjustment. Concerned it is mid May and a 2018 is still available. Is this a good deal...
