Gen 3 Wall Connector failure - blue light after software update

First charge after software update. Charger is a couple of weeks old. Started charging, then went blue and stopped. A couple of minutes later, I heard a click and it went green and it’s charging again. I’ll see what happens next.

Auto Steer Beta sudden lane change to evade bird shadows

Driving the two lane highway through Everglades National Park in Auto Steer Beta, my Model Y twice forcibly swerved into the oncoming lane (yikes!) when a bird crossed the road, high in the air. I believe the camera saw the bird’s dark shadow on the sunlit pavement as the bird passed high over...

    Roof rack for model y

Tesla shop remounted the glass straight (just half a day) and the rack went on smoothly. I would never have had the nerve to tighten the nuts that much (3 Nm) without a torque wrench. FYI, Amazon sells an 8 mm Allen’s socket for cheap.

    Roof rack for model y

Yakima did a first rate job designing and building the OEM rack, however the Tesla folks in Fresno installed the roof glass crooked and one clip will not fit in place. I knew better than to fight with it and put in a service call instead. Let's see how that goes.

Give the direct link a try. If that doesn’t work, go through your installer.

My proposed system can't power my AC

New firmware and new parameters did the trick. Tesla's technician saw that my solar inverters turned off at 60.7 Hz, so he set the cut-off frequency at 61.0 Hz. Bingo. I turned off the grid power today and watched for a couple of hours as the solar inverters cycled off smoothly when the PW2s...

Powerwall/Solar Edge behavior in power outage

"66 Hz problem" is solved and I can now run off-grid indefinitely (just completed 6 days). Tesla's technician saw that my solar inverters turned off at 60.7 Hz, so he set the cut-off frequency at 61.0 Hz. Worked like a charm. I turned off the grid power today and watched for a couple of hours...

My proposed system can't power my AC

Tesla tweaked the parameters on my system, so I will test it tomorrow and see if it works better. Fingers crossed.

My proposed system can't power my AC

It should work. I have two Powerwall2 unis from which I run my 3 ton Lennox A/C (with a soft-start) (2.7 kW) and charge my car with a level 2 charger (6.6 kW) and run a 30 amp inline water heater. No problem. Twice I've run the house off-grid for a week -- just finished a 6-day rainy season...

My proposed system can't power my AC

As completely fabulous as the PW2s are when they work properly, the "66 Hz problem" is real, serious, intermittent, and persistent. I discovered it when doing a week long off-grid test of my grid-tied system in March of 2019 (www.SomiSolar.com). When the PW2's state of charge (SOC) reaches the...
