The original roadster was a limited production. There is nothing indicating the new roadster will be limited (in anything, pretty much). Anyone with the money will be able to buy one eventually. I have not heard the volume, but it won't be a limited production quantity/timeframe...

Why? sprinklers may not put out a battery fire, but no one is pointing their fingers at a battery as the cause. And even if it was, sprinklers may have prevented it from spreading rapidly taking the entire building and all cars with it.... But guaranteed, without sprinklers, a fire would...

Seeing all these in a list like this makes the number lost all the more real. I've driven mine a LOT this week thinking about all those lost and the owners that will never see their car again.

That can be a consideration, but there are other service providers, working on the same vehicles that have not had the issues at GMC. And had he not been there, someone would have stepped up. But absolutely destroying over 1% of ALL roadsters does not get offset IMO. GMC has done some good...

You'll get a premium as long as the battery is holding at an improved range, imo. The issue with the 3.0 battery was degradation of range, so just having the 3.0 only gets you half way to the premium. If your logs are showing range (CAC) holding, you'll get a premium for the extra range above...

A "practical person" won't buy an original roadster...at least not for "practicality" of the car/price. :) But, as you mention, most of the original roadster owners are probably not "practical" folks... I CAN be practical most of the time, but not when it came to the opportunity to buy my baby.

I agree with the above responses...the new roadster won't have significant impact on the original roadster pricing... First, as mentioned, the limited and slowly reducing population of the original version, starting from a small (relatively) number. A few of the "new" roadster may hold value...

I would agree that if this is a "new" battery installed in Feb, the range is likely 194 miles on standard. Mine likely had a "new" battery in 2016 (since all logs show 2016 as the earliest date) and currently sits at 183 miles range. Would have been nice to have a the comment read "full...

Probably could find a fellow roadster owner that might have experience in doing the self-service PEM cleaning (DIY: Roadster 2.5 PEM cleaning - step by step) that might be willing to help you get it out and put it back in...or if you can't help, perhaps a couple folks would be willing to be...

Nope. The prices of used cars is up because of demand and shortages. The roadster demand is not driving the price up, although it could be argued the shortage of available roadsters is....

My bet is they prefer not to open the PEM at the SC to replace the board, so when shipping the battery, they ship a "new" PEM to replace the PEM in the car. Whether they are refurbishing the PEM to make it "new" or it is just a PEM with the new board is unknown, unless someone opens up the PEM...

@GREML1N win this bid? or a different but similar name? I think low mileage is overrated. It's all about the current range to see how the car was treated. Mine was low mileage (2450, now 6900) but had received a reman battery at some point. Good range on the current battery, so no big deal...

I suggest contacting either Gruber or Medlock and/or posting in either/both of the Roadster owner FB groups. Seems to be a lot more activity from those 2 on the FB pages and both seem interested in helping on issues like this....they are the most likely to have an answer for your issue, imo.
