Is it Conceivable to Go Back to ICE After Driving a Tesla?

Same experience here. We had two very modest economy cars (Hyundai Accents) and will never buy an ICE-based vehicle again. EVs are too smooth, quiet, relaxing and satisfying (for so many reasons) that I regret every time we need to borrow a conventional car.

Which is safer in a potential deer strike: Model X or large SUV?

At the very least I think the X and the Tahoe would have parity. There's got to be more of a reason your friends aren't into the 'X - perhaps they like the idea of the Tahoe for another reason...

Most Mileage: Commuter Or A Weekend Rider?

Mileage is 17,500 miles. (28,000 km, since we're in Canada.) I drive the car 110km minimum each workday and in general we do about the same each weekend day as we head out and find entertainment for the little one. We received the car on March 18th, 2013. We are ergo on track to rack up a...

Electric car owner charged with stealing 5 cents worth of juice

There are still some dealers who don't get it. I went to a (kind, but clearly misinformed) Ford dealership with a 30A J1772 station. After making well-sure it was alright to charge using their station, I plugged in and went to work. An hour later I checked the Tesla app and found the car was not...

    Model S sightings in Ontario

My wife and I shop at the Superstore in Oakville all of the time. We've seen only one there so far. Keep an eye out for a white non-perf!

Have you met the 'i hate all things ev' guy yet?

Let me tell you I've driven alongside many of them on the 401, QEW and 403 before. Sigh.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Haha... it's like the old Sony Trinitron monitors... the tiny black line caused by the wire. No one would notice it until I was a total troll and showed it to them. From then on everyone I knew who had one hated their Trinitron tubes. :-)

    Please Enter Access Code

Same issue occurs when companies like Nvidia (interestingly the purveyor of the CPUs in the screens within the 'S) and AMD update their GPU drivers. New product SKUs often appear in the *.inf files before the products are released. Similarly ATI and Nvidia have had modified drivers crafted by...

I never knew the method by which this happened but I have friends who've been caught before! Now I know. Thanks for the info.

For folks who are squeamish about getting stern warnings from Tesla I would agree not posting any controversial material is for the best. I would also like to point out though that if Tesla intends on courting "hackers" and early adopters in general, it would do best to be as open as...

    Model S Canadian Deliveries

My wife spoke with a gentleman (unfortunately I don't recall his name) who advised that the Canadian gov has conditionally approved sale of the Model S in Canada now. Additionally I am P #352 and am slated to get a call in January to finalize my car. Hope you are all hanging in there until then!

    Model S Canadian Deliveries

I got a quote already. Was barely more than a 2008 Hyundai Accent!

Okay, so there is one really poor person buying a model S.

Agreed. I worked as a super at my building and earned enough on the side to make a 25% down payment on my first home. (The worst time of my life was the day the sewer backed up in the building and I had to clean a huge mess in the laundry room, if you know what I mean. A shovel, a mop and...

    Model S Canadian Deliveries

Welcome to Canadian Bureaucracy. My work at a pseudo-governmental institution includes attending meetings where we discuss (for three hours) whether or not our goal is to "Educate students towards their next career" or "Educate students towards their next careerS". Sigh.

Approximate General Production Model S Canadian Timeline

Hi everyone, I am production # 352 in Canada. I wish I were closer to the front of the line but unfortunately I did not discover this vehicle until fairly recently. I desperately need a car but am trying to hold out for the Model S. Problem #1: I having been taking the TTC (public transit) to...

    Annual Mileage Thoughts

My wife and I drive at least 35K a year. Most of this is from my commute: South-West Mississauga to North-East Toronto! We will go through the warranty in a little over two years... ouch.
