Dropped in just after Christmas, staff said they sold the two X's they had in the prior week. There's now just one lonely M3 in the showroom. Hopefully superchargers go in soon.

Agree, great news! Demographic makes sense for this location, there are a lot of Teslas in Bayside Melbourne. It's a nice high profile spot too and nearest SC are either Richmond or Camberwell.

It's possible that not being able to open the doors would make the car unroadworthy? That in itself should be reason for Tesla to fix them at no cost even outside of warranty. All latches and secondary latches on all doors giving access to the passenger areas must function correctly and secure...

More details in this thread... for my M3 I went with PPF for the front half and doors. It's a lot more expensive but if it fits the budget I highly recommend PPF for proper paint protection. Otherwise yes go with ceramic coating. Offers some paint protection and makes the paintwork a lot...

Agree it's a lot of coin. I didn't do it for resale, I did it for myself. I'm fussy about the paintwork and try hard to protect it and keep it clean. So for me it was an investment towards that. I wouldn't do it expecting a ROI come resell time. Do it if paintwork blemishes are going to keep...

Is Rob saying he's had multiple reports of that come back to him? Fair enough if he doesn't want the work, but if he's going to basically tell you that tinting the windows and/or roof will cause them to crack, he should back it up with some evidence.

I had the same anxiety on delivery day. I walked up to the delivery centre thinking "Please have my car there and they haven't forked this up". I was checking Vicroads for rego the day before and nothing. Checked it the afternoon of delivery and it was there. Makes sense they do it on delivery...

No sorry, they didn't give any more details. It's possible they were damaged in transit, but it's also possible they're using that as an excuse for the delay. Unfortunately we have no way of telling, we just have to take their word for it.

About $500-$600 is right for brand name ceramic film for side windows. If you look at the size of the M3 roof and rear glass and then factor in the complexity of installing that over side windows, I don't think an additional $600 for that is stupidly expensive, I'd say it's about right.

Picked up my car today. It is awesome! For the record that was 187 days from order to delivery, or just over 6 months :D Thanks #teamVINLess for your support, hang in their folks your time will come. And yes the wait is worth it.

Nah it's more like 3 year olds in July, after they got nothing last Christmas, still believing in Santa and still expecting him to show up!

I've had a verbal, in-person and then email commitment from Tesla that I'll get my car "by the end of the week". Which by my calculations is approx 2 days away. I don't actually have a delivery date, so yep technically I'm also #TeamNoCall

Gotta say both colours looked better in person than I expected, but yeah the blue really pops. ;) And credit to the Richmond detailer who was prepping it for delivery, he was giving it some careful, thorough cleaning and TLC.

Congrats to whoever is driving these away today.
