It might be easier - but the association of a particular stall with a particular bay isn't so obvious to the casual (non-Tesla) driver... this could be improved via better visual clues, but in practice you do see people still using the "wrong" stall at V4 sites.

They already have a big site nearby - I find that odd when the point of superchargers is to provide extra range. Why build two sites so close when they could invest in improving coverage? How can we be certain any Tesla Supercharger hardware arriving at a new site is actually for the Tesla...

It's not just the cable length - people who don't drive Teslas are used to just picking the cable closest to their charge port - they aren't familiar with site designs where the stalls are positioned for the passenger-side charge port only - so if you turn up at a bank of 12 stalls and reverse...

Another v4 site with the stalls not mounted in the centre... only going to cause problems in the long-term as they get busy with all EVs accessing them....

Sometimes they do (Birchanger & Hopwood) sometimes they don't (Tebay & Gretna).

They switched off the V2 stalls on 5th February - clearly something has gone wrong with the project management!

Yep, they recently redesigned the layout of the Glasgow SC site to accommodate more parking, presumably in anticipation of the expansion of the supercharger building plans. Even when there's space & power there's still competition for that space... e.g. the Aviemore chargers.

TOUK: Scotland Facebook group reports that Glasgow SC SuC construction has started - 12 stalls (up from the previously planned 8).

It's reported in TOUK Facebook group that the expansion is an extra 8 V3s at a slightly different location in the main car park to the existing 8 V2s at Woodall Southbound Services.

Amazingly they support billing via Tesla so it’s “plug and charge” just like a supercharger.

Apparently, according to the Tesla Owners UK president, Gretna has sadly hit some problems: "Equipment was stuck, unable to work." The Scottish expansion is happening at a snail pace compared to down South.

I see this is now shown on supercharge.info, but not all the Gridserve Electric Forecourt plans are - e.g. Glasgow Rutherglen - is that because they aren't certain whether they will be Tesla SuCs?

There are 6 2-stall SuC sites in the UK - all early 130kW ones, and in total there are 20 SuC sites with fewer than 6 chargers (from: supercharge.info) There's a trend for adding on a few Tesla superchargers on Gridserve Electric Forecourt sites, which are usually less than 6.

Thanks - there was a problem where cars were being routed there even though it was closed because it was mistakenly set to "reduced service" instead of "temporarily closed". Last I heard it was still closed at the end of February, but maybe it has indeed quietly reopened again.

Is Thurrock still temporarily closed? If so supercharge.info should be updated for that too?

Is regular AP disabled in heavy rain too?
