Tesla's Find Us page has been updated to include a pin in Keremeos with a target of this year. This is great news as it provides another potion along Highway 3. Edit: Sorry for not putting "BC" in the title. I've reported the post to get that fixed.

There isn't much choice... There is no free or cheap parking in downtown Vancouver so they will always be in some sort of pay parkade unless you expect Tesla to foot the bill (which would be passed on). Space is at a premium in busy downtowns so that's the reality.

Does anyone know if a generic NFC card will work or does Tesla pre-format their cards?

After doing some checking it looks like it might not quite do it. It's just a little too far east to get to/from with an SR+ heading to/from the Coast.

I'm hoping this can replace both the Hope and Princeton stops for a Model 3 SR+ going from the Vancouver area to the Okanagan.

Not to mention the huge number of trailers destined for the camping and outdoor activities between Chilliwack and the Okanagan!

I really regret not pulling in there. We did hear about it somewhere (maybe in Federal grant info) some time ago but then it fell silent and all the press was for the BC Hydro site. I convinced myself I mis-remembered and didn't bother pulling off on a recent drive by for a look. I was sure one...

They're all over the place and have different numbers of steps. South Richmond is currently showing 27 cents from 4am to 2pm, 34 cents from 2pm to midnight, and 10 cents from midnight to 4am. Coquitlam is 28 cents from 4am to 2pm, 36 cents from 2pm to 8pm, 30 cents from 8pm to midnight, and...

America has lots of freeway but their issue is handling lots of traffic, not generally tough construction conditions. And where they do have tough construction like in the US Rockies they have a much larger population to help justify it. Building outside the mountains is just so much easier...

The only real factor here is the cost of a project that is essentially one of North America's most challenging highway construction projects to date. It's a 4 lane divided highway being carved into and hung from the side of a cliff consisting of weak rock above a river and rail line.

Would there be any value in adding "Completed" to the sites as they open? "Supercharger - name-of-location - Completed" As the number of chargers multiply and cities start to get second sites it's getting hard to track which are stuck, complete, or under permit/construction.

Agreed. I was more focused on the person who responded saying they'd done surveys for a number of supercharger sites!

Most people. That's sort of my whole point. Non-enthusiasts hate complexity and the fact that charging isn't as fast and simple as queueing and fueling up at a gas pump is one of the biggest barriers to adoption. Telling people they need to use a phone or vehicle screen based reservation system...

The issue isn't that they don't see these things, but that it adds complexity that the average person won't like. Like at a gas station, people want to pull up to any spot, fuel as fast as possible, and drive away. Only the minority of us who take the time to be in these forums and think about...

A downside is that this area gridlocks during rushhour as the queues spill back from the tunnel.

I think they put the one in so it works with vehicles pulling a trailer.

I wish they'd found a way to get these in at the Junction toward Kelowna.

I couldn't get pictures but it appears they are adding (at least) 4 more stalls at this location. There is construction right in front of the transformers and those adjacent spots are fenced off with curb work ongoing. The site shows as under service in vehicle.

Interesting. I grew up with the nomenclature that "RVs" have to have their own engine/motor.

Despite it being sold out online, I managed to get one from my local service center. It's worth a try if you're anywhere near one as they are very hard to come by. I called ahead and they told me they had one left in stock. Good luck.

They really got those in fast! That just shows how much waiting is usually for the utility power connection. Interesting they had a big enough service to run nearly double the pedestals.

Glad I got through without needing to charge. The nav showed it was busy today. I wonder if they're rushing to be up and running for the long weekend.

In addition to above, now that all the new pedestals are installed it's clear they're adding stalls on either side of the new "peninsula" they've constructed. Roughly half the new stalls will face the old ones and the others will face the exit. I'm happy about this. Beyond the added capacity...

They're here working hard on a Sunday. There are crews working on the pedestals and in the cabinets. I didn't look at the peak charging rate because I ran into the bathroom after plugging in but it seems to be working normally. The huge bright red "CLOSED SUPERCHARGER ON YOUR ROUTE" banner...

Thinking about this, I wonder if Tesla might upgrade the original Hope site to V3 once they have all these new stalls open at Hope 2. That would be pretty excellent. The less excellent possibility is that Hope 1 closes.

Was the charge normal? I noticed this at about 5:00 today.

Some of the fastest supercharging speeds I've ever had have been in Hope. Maybe there was something going on during your last visit? If I run into issues on my upcoming trip through there I'll report back. Also, was this the old/original site or the new site?

Did you get any sense of the new layout? Will the new stalls be along the existing eastern curb or does it seem like they are going to extend a peninsula/island out into the lot across from the existing row of stalls? I hope for the latter option. The current lot is too wide open and people rip...
