Walk away lock works 50% of the time

Latest update: I've noticed something interesting. Again, apologies if this is well-understood behavior and discussed already in other places, but... I can work around this problem by re-shutting the driver's door. It works like this: Put car in "Park", get out, shut door. Headlights are on...

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

Nah, I really never do this. I will try resetting BT, but I never really turn it off while in the car.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

I've had this problem occur off and on when out running errands. On those trips i've asked myself the same question - what is changing here besides the store I am parked in front of? I really don't think anything is changing. I may get a little more specific in my experiments.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

I'm sure there is no other device key - only the card in my wallet. Initially I thought it might be when my wallet was in my right pocket, which places the card close to the center console. I've since tested (by removing key card altogether from wallet) and eliminated that as a possibility. Now...

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

No, plus wouldn't the display indicate the car thinks something is open? Usually I get a warning when I put it in drive and a door is open.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

Exactly! Scheduling for service. In the meantime i’ll experiment with giving the seat a couple of pumps/whacks when I exit.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

I almost never use keycard. I’ve used phone key for almost six years and having the keycard in my wallet as backup was never a problem. Im beginning to suspect a sensor - maybe in the drivers seat - is malfunctioning.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

I know this has been covered previously with varying outcomes, but my problem persists. 2022 Model 3 (my second M3, owned a 2018 as well) has about 25k miles. Walk away locking works about half the time. I've tried a few things: opened and shut all doors (why? dunno, sensors or something)...

Locking in a price in anticipation of the Federal Tax Credit

If the goal is to make ineligible the top tier of luxury BEV vehicles, yeah, that's obviously too low. The M3P is still a mass-market car. I'd be interested to hear from anyone with insight into the legislative process that came up with $55k. Can't be arbitrary.

My car (literally) smells like dog #$@!

Gym socks rolled in dog poop. That's the smell. My 2018 3 had the same issue and it was terrible. I thought I read that this was addressed in a software update? You can imagine how this would work - the computer would enforce some non-recirc air movement after you park if you've been driving in...

    Battery damaged

Update: USAA adjuster looked over the car this morning and came up with an estimate that was only a few dollars different than Tesla's. I'm going to authorize the work so I can get on with life.

    Battery damaged

Tesla area not giving any indication that they're obligated to do this. Seems like my only option would be to take the car.

    Battery damaged

Good Morning Everyone, Adam at the Rockville, MD Service Center was kind enough to send two undercarriage photos. From what I understand, what you're looking at (below) is a replaceable plastic coolant connector. In my case, it appears to be damaged - but apparently the battery-side fitting is...

No further update today. Still waiting on the service center for photos and core charge information.

    Battery damaged

Funny you should mention a skid plate. My first impression when I peered under the car at the leak was that the leading edge of the pack was more vulnerable and had less protection than the flat underside, which has a beefy plate. If you peer underneath the underside cover between the two front...

$15,000 is parts only. Also quoted was 4.5 hours labor.

    Battery damaged

Yeah, this. I agree with the poster above regarding safety issues, but I think safety is 100% depending on the nature and extent of the damage. I'm anxious to see the pictures. And, yes, I am on the fence as to whether it is worth the hassle. $2000, maybe not. 6 or 8 thousand? Yes. If for no...

    Battery damaged

I completely understand the first-post skepticism. But let me be clear to anyone reading this: Despite what I am going through right now, I still very much consider this car to be the best car i've ever owned - and by no small margin. I have no intention of spreading FUD - quite the opposite -...

    Battery damaged

I didn't take any pictures of the curb stop - had no idea I might need them. Figured this would be an out-of-pocket repair. Not much to see on the underside of the car. Slight damage to the cover on the underside between front wheels. Blue fluid leaking out.

    Battery damaged

Ran over a parking lot curb stop. Internal hose damaged and not serviceable. $15,000. Terrible mistake, but wasn't a big curb, didn't even touch bumper valance. Stunned.
