PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

1% per day is normal per owner’s manual regardless of enrollment with Rolling Energy. How are you determining the constant waking up every 30 mins or so? Do you see extra mileage loss in the Energy screen?

I have 27k miles and also getting 239 miles on a full charge so the degradation is calendar pretty much. My lifetime consumption is 205 wh/mi.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

NFP is Nominal Full Pack in kWh which is usable energy when fully charged. Test needs SOC to be below 50% and I was well below. I did upgrade to 2022.36.6 from 2022.36.5. Wonder if it is a bug in .6.

Update on the battery Health Test. I was able to unlock the Gateway to start the test but nothing happened. It said all the criteria met and “Starting Test” and there was a 900 seconds. I waited and nothing happened. I tried charging the battery to 7% which then turned green from orange. Hard...

The link of the graph in my previous post is of LFP. It shows 3.2V at 20% SOC.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Starting the battery Health at 4.3% SOC. Pack voltage says 340V and cells average 3.2V. Doesn’t that indicate 20% SOC based on the graph I have seen? If the 4.5% buffer is taken account, 8.8% should be below 3.1V at cell level.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

The Energy screen now has the number of miles lost while parked so the car has the ability to count the idle energy loss. I think that can be used to calculate expected SOC from NFP.

Went to the service menu this morning and looked at the battery screen. It said my battery health is 100%. I am sure it will drop after I perform the actual test tonight.

Replying myself 12 months and 13,700 miles later. Nominal Full Pack (NFP) is down to 52.4 kWh. ~4.7% degradation. Energy Buffer (EB) is at 2.38 kWh, if I recall it was 2.5 kWh reserved before. Tomorrow after work, my SOC will be down to 6% (if no errand) and I will be starting the battery...

I just got 2022.36.5. It may take a week before I use up all the miles and then start the battery test. My last 100% charge indicated 243 miles. I will see if BMS could calibrate and change this value.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

I was going to drive until 5-10% remaining to do the test. That should allow quicker discharge and after ending the test I would have 100% charged. I wonder how the car would discharge, perhaps by preconditioning the battery pack.

Ok, I want to do use the Battery Health Test in 2022.36.2 service menu but I have not gotten the push yet. Anyone with LFP battery gotten it? I have 2021 “Performance” SR+ with LFP.

We got our cars about the same time. I only have 11k miles. My full charge is also down to 244 miles (from 253). This may be natural calendar aging of LFP. ScanMyTesla said my full capacity now is 52.6 kWh (55.1 when new). Lifetime efficiency is 209 Wh/mi. I used to charge to 100% until I go...

Has anyone seen the battery snow icon indicating temporary capacity/range loss until the pack gets warm enough? The lowest my 2021 SR+ with LFP battery has gotten is 28 deg F and got no snow icon so far this winter. When I had my 2018 LR with NCA battery, I have seen the snow icon.

I charge when the range drops below 100 miles to full. I think the lowest I went was 20%. I would say it ranges from 20-40% to 100% charge, used to be weekly but now more often due winter.

Here is another data point from yesterday. I left home in 17F outside temp. Car was parked in my driveway, scheduled for a full charge and preheated. Battery average temp was 67 F. I drove with 67 F interior temp with jacket on, heated seat set on Auto and steering heat. When I got to work...

Yup, that's why regen is limited. Per my screenshot, 18.4 kW regen at battery temp of 50 deg F (10 deg C). That's 0.33C. The test in the paper was done at 1C and 10 deg C got 2,700 cycles with 10% capacity loss. Tesla is being very cautious by allowing only 0.33C. Yup, the middle row and right...

I get that charging to 100% would have the battery sitting at higher SOC through out it's life. I don't think it is something to worry about as there are other factors that could affect more. I have 13 years old Black & Decker VPX tools with A123 LFP batteries and they still work! My usage is...

LFP is not sensitive to depth of charge/discharge. You'll get 3,000 cycles doing 0-100% and retain 90% of the original capacity. For me, l do 20-100% cycle ~per week so 52 cycles per year so it is not worth worrying about. NCA and NMC are very sensitive to DOD. LFP is more sensitive to the temp...

2022 LFP model 3 range/ efficiency in British winter?

Yup, the data was from my test to see how much battery temp increases after cabin temp is reached, how much energy it uses and see heat pump in action. I now do not precondition and drive with a cold battery. When I do need to charge I time it to finish before I leave home.

I am attaching two captures. 99.4% SOC with 31kW regen and another one with 85% SOC with 12kW regen. The difference was the battery pack temperatures, 62F vs 47F average temps. Here is my last charge data for reference. I have Gen2 Tesla Wall Connector and charge at 245V @32 Amps. I set it to start at midnight so the voltage is higher. Per my Sense Monitor, the charge consumed 42.9 kWh and took ~5.5 hours. It refilled 189 miles from 62 -> 251 miles. Therefore, the...

Right. I got Charge Point Home Flex ($700) to replace my Gen2 Tesla WC. I am contemplating if it is worth all the trouble to save 11 cents per kWh especially, I'll need to use J1772 to Tesla converter every time I charge (and remove it to hang the J1772 back on Home Flex.

Is your US made SR+ LFP charging to 253 or 262?

Per this paper, if you look at graph d, there isn't much difference between 20, 60 and 100% depth cycles. You still have 90% initial capacity after 3,000 cycles. 253 miles x 3,000 cycles = 759,000 miles on odometer. 786,000 if we use 262 miles per charge. This battery will go past a million...

Is your US made SR+ LFP charging to 253 or 262?

There is no indication of the EPA test result for 2021 LFP Model 3. It is not on EPA website and the Monroney sticker that came with it can't be trusted either. For me, I don't care if it displays as 253 or 262 as I am getting more than 253 now anyway. The important thing is the available...

I have the same thought. Tesla sold the car with incorrect Monroney sticker. It said 262 miles range but scanning the QR code goes to 2019 SR+ page which is rated 240 miles.
