I know my comments where made a long time ago (way back in late Nov), but the tech I spoke with, on my way out west, did suggest they had another round if testing and that the SC likely wouldn't be online til after Christmas (okay he didn't say it but I deduced it from the conversation).

The North Bay SCs are NOT active. Checked 3 w/o success.

I'm back up to North Bay again today and will file my report while waiting for my son to finish his exam ;)

The PetroCan stations were reliable and made it possible to travel to Calgary. The only patch that I had to stop for a L2 top up was between Espanola and Wawa. Obviously not as fast as SC, but no complaints. Not to sound like a broken record, but before Christmas may be too optimistic. And...

Based on a convo I had with the technicians running the tests, I gleaned that they will be doing two rounds across the north, and were in the midst of completing the first round. I would be (pleasantly) surprised if they were on line before Christmas, but have my fingers crossed.

Slower than it will be for Regina next year when SC are up and running. Passing by so many lifeless SCs was a little sad. That said, the PetroCanada fast chargers made the trip possible. It was like the early days of charging where each stop was 1 to 1.5 hrs. Back on topic, when I passed this...

They were planning on having the TCH complete by the end of 2018 ;).

Stopped in last night. Tesla crew in a blue X was there running tests. They had been at Espanola and Blind River earlier in the day. Though they didn't offer much info, it sounds like they will be doing 2 rounds of tests, so don't expect them to be open before Christmas.

Was there a few hrs ago, but Good call. As a matter of fact there was. A green box. So I guess there was something to report ;).

Checked today and, unfortunately, nothing new to report.

I'm driving through Canada. The weather looks favourable and the PetroCan charging will help get me there. And agreed, go Bombers.

I have a 100D and will gladly meet them there Thursday afternoon on my way out to the GC;).

With my son at Nipissing, it'll be perfect for when we're visiting. More convenient than getting off at Huntsville on the way home :).

I'm not sure bottlenecking is the issue, I think it's prioritizing and strategizing. Locations started in the US after some of those in Canada are now operational. I'm in the camp that thinks there'll be a blitz on SCs across the TCH once a majority are ready for the pedastals. I just hope it's...

Dropped by today and nothing has changed in the past week and a half.

I'm committed to driving out to Calgary at the end of Nov for the Grey Cup. With each construct my hope is renewed that I can do it through Canada using only the SC network.

Though it didn't seem like there was much progress, work was getting done today.

Fingers crossed it's done this week (not that I expect it will be). Taking my son up to uni and a top up would be nice. Will update with pix of progress.

We finished a 22,500 km trip in our MS through the UP and along the TCH from SSM and just wanted to get home. The TCH from SSM to Sudbury was great, mostly two-lane, not many mountains/cliffs in that part of Ontario, often divided and recently paved. Also, not a lot of traffic so avoiding all...

Basically, provincal brown outs? Maybe someone California has info on the effect on charging.

You're still looking at a 25-40% reduction on your highway distances. It's safer to underestimate than overestimate.
