    Total braking system failure?

When four electronic systems seem to be failing, I'm not waiting for HAL to suggest I pull over.

    Total braking system failure?

You don't know me. I am FAR from a Tesla apologist. However in this case, it is nuts to drive that car with those warnings without at least calling Tesla Roadside which is why I asked if I was missing something. If he called Tesla and they told him to reboot and drive to work then it's on Tesla...

    Total braking system failure?

Am I missing something or was it incredibly risky/irresponsible/stupid to drive the car at all after four signs of electronic problems in a highly automated car? And then kind of insane to drive it back home after those four signs plus a brake failure? I don't get it.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

A forum is not a fan club. A forum is to discuss issues; joys, accolades, problems, and complaints. The materials, fit, and finish of Tesla cars is far below other cars in their price class and it's frustrating. If you're not familiar, go to a BMW dealership and sit in cars in the $40-$80,000...

This is a good one... https://levelfivesupplies.com/high-resolution-lidar-ups-the-game-in-localisation-for-autonomous-racing/ "To get an edge in the competition the ARG team opted to pursue a newer approach to localisation: high-resolution LiDAR combined with 3D mapping."

This is what it's all about. Long TSLA. Not a fan, just promoting his portfolio. It's what Elon's been doing for years. No, Waymo is focused on Level 5. Elon is talking "Level 5" to boost sales and TSLA while his cars are firmly stuck at Level 2.

We also drive with our RADAR. Seriously, this is insane.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

This is one of the dumbest things I've seen written on the internet. Autonomous driving cars is probably the most difficult problem that's ever been attempted to be solved for a consumer product. For sure it's much more difficult than flying to the moon or mars. We flew to the moon off of slide...

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

He's not talking about his Tesla. He's being an arrogant SOB, saying he profited so much off the overinflated TSLA stock that he hired a driver. This is why people hate Tesla drivers even more than they hate BMW drivers.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

The only clowning going on here is your Tesla Fanboy nonsense. Waymo has autonomous, Level 4 cars. Tesla has Level 2 TACC. We can start the discussion there otherwise this is a complete waste of time. You can argue that somehow magically our cars will approach what LIDAR plus HD mapping plus...

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

There is zero chance that your Model 3 as it is will “do the driving” for your daughter in six years. I will extend a small chance that with a hardware upgrade costing anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 to add LIDAR (or some other yet to exist advanced sensor technology) and HD mapping, your car...

Great videos. I am NOT a Google fan but Chris Urmson is smart, honest, and funny, and their technology is infinitely far ahead of Tesla. You cannot put it in years because with current Tesla sensors, stubbornness, and dishonesty, they will simply never get there.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

I will go there and say, yes, as long as Elon refuses HD mapping and LIDAR, current sensors and computers that can fit in a car with reasonable power consumption will never get to Level 4-5. I don't see it even getting fully to Level 3 but I will say never to 4 or 5.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

How, on earth, can you say that? Waymo actually self-drives. Tesla is nowhere close to self-driving. Tesla is at Level 2 TACC plus second-rate navigation.

Blog Musk Touts ‘Quantum Leap” in Full Self-Driving Performance

So then you're saying that Waymo's software is many years ahead of Tesla, if it can do Level 4 without LIDAR.

I'm not sure why/how you are disconnecting sensors from vision. Any device or organism uses its sensors to synthesize its vision. We use all of our senses--sight, sound, touch, taste, smell--to create our vision of the world around us to use as part of our decision-making process along with our...

That's one wacky argument, Dan. Joe Schmo cannot fly to the moon but flying to the moon is clearly possible and Joe clearly cares about it.

These are not wildly optimistic claims, they are lies. These cars with current sensor hardware and available computing power will never get past Level 2 Autonomy. They would need LIDAR and constantly updating 3D HD maps to get to "full self driving."

No. Stock market wealth is no excuse for dishonesty, although that's what most of the world thinks anyway.

I’m sorry I claimed Tesla support was helpful

If Tesla provided adequate support, Elon would not be receiving his obscene billions. That's the bottom line.

German Court Bans Tesla from Advertising Autopilot

There is no version of Tesla "FSD" that is anywhere close to full self driving. That is the problem.

German Court Bans Tesla from Advertising Autopilot

And he has! He has lied, manipulated, and made owners suffer with terrible service in order to artificially inflate income and stock price to win his obscene multi-billion-dollar pay days.

Sure but it's Level 2 TACC not "full self driving" under any reasonable, obvious definition.

German Court Bans Tesla from Advertising Autopilot

It's actually a non-perfected Level 2 at this point, not even Level 3. Level 2, and still gets into accidents. It's not Level 3 because I often have to grab the wheel and take control before the automation asks me to. NHTSA Level 2: An advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) on the vehicle...

German Court Bans Tesla from Advertising Autopilot

Tesla is nowhere near self-driving, and yes I own one with the "FSD" feature. They have not even perfected Level 2, let alone Level 4-5 which is self-driving.
  28. N

German Court Bans Tesla from Advertising Autopilot

Good for them! "Full self driving" has always been a lie. These cars will never achieve level 3-5 with current sensors and computing. They are level 2 which is far from what any reasonable, intelligent person would consider "full self driving," and even have accidents at level 2.

Is the insane lack of email responses/customer service I am experiencing common?

"Is the insane lack of email responses/customer service I am experiencing common?" Yes. This is how Elon earned his obscene multi-billion-dolar pay days, by making us all suffer with nonexistent customer service.

    Ticket for Lane change

Are you nuts? The car in front of you driving slower than you wish to be driving is absolutely no excuse for changing lanes in front of a car going faster than you, causing them to have to brake. It's unsafe and rude. Then you kept that car going slower while you waited to get back in the lane...

    Ticket for Lane change

That lane change at 1:12 is unsafe for sure, and a jerky move that would piss off any driver. As for the masks, that one's on them. So maybe call it a draw?!?
  32. N

    Ticket for Lane change

Personally I would not fight it, as you will most likely lose. I have believed since day one of NoAP that the lane changes are sometimes dangerously abrupt, feeling jerky/reckless, without enough blinker warning to be safe or legal, and it's just rude. And this is from an M-car driver. NoAP...
