That was what I was thinking the first couple times, either I put it on drive or I was too quick didn’t really put on reverse. I did double make sure after and it did displayed R on the screen, even my 20 years old son did it couple times.

After few attempts, I searched online and did a reboot with pressing acceleration pedal. Not sure if that fixed it but at that point I just wanted to try anything

It happened to me today. Came out from grocery store with my kids, I put in reverse, slightly hit "gas" pedal and my car went forward. I went back and forward between park and reverse try to backup multiple times, it did not work until I rebooted it the screen. It sure creeped hell out of me.
