    Supercharger - Ottawa ON

You can save yourself 47 km next time. I agree that Ottawa isn't typically a travelling-through city. I think better locations would be between Ottawa and other nearby cities. But a Supercharger couldn't hurt to be in capital city of the 2nd biggest country in the world.

    Supercharger - Ottawa ON

Also would like to echo the fact that this location is not convenient. It's far from the highway, paid parking lot, and have to struggle with downtown traffic and a congested parking lot. Each 30 minutes or less (maximum 3 hours) $1.50 Next 30 minutes or less $2.00 Day rate (12 hours) $20.00...

    Door Handles Failed

I'm at Tesla Montreal getting this issue fixed right now. In fact - it seems my car has a mind of its own. - The driver door window does not auto-close and auto-open when using the window up/down button. - The window will move when using the buttons - but the auto-up/down function does not...

Cold weather and smart air suspension issue

I had this problem happen twice. My car was also stuck in odd positions. One of them was the front being on low, and the rear on very high ! This was last year - it was very cold (-30C) I even had the car in a heated garage for 8 hours, but the heat didn't help. I figure they replaced a lot of...

Near annual replacement of 12V battery is typical according to Tesla Service Tech

Thank you for your comments. I have 122 000km (75 800 miles) on the car. I can believe that the charge cycles of the 12v might prompt a replacement, but I don't believe it's worth $300 considering i am covered under the service agreement and tesla's 8-year battery warranty. I require my car...

Near annual replacement of 12V battery is typical according to Tesla Service Tech

Tesla Montreal wants to charge me $300CAD for a 12v battery replacement because of the number of 'charge cycles' on my vehicle. I already had my 12v replaced once when the car was fairly new due to the old 12v battery supplier. I paid for - and am covered for the extended annual service, and...

    Good body shop in Ottawa

Without seeing the damage - the bumpers are made out of plastic and should be as easy to fix as any regular car. As for the dammage in the aluminium liftgate- it's hard to know if it's just a paint job or anything more. Doug makes a good point - best to ask about experience with aluminium. I...

    Good body shop in Ottawa

I would go to highland auto body. Ask for David. Also, chamberland auto, in rockland, fixed a dent once in a front bumper caused by a raccoon (not a tesla). They did a flawless job.

    Tesla LONG term storage?

I would inflate the tires to max pressure on the sidewall (to avoid flat spot), keep the car plugged in, and the battery limiter to 50%. Be sure to lower the tire pressure to normal pressure before taking it out for a drive.

Would a P owner be willing to do me a favour?

About a year ago, the sport pedals were available for purchase online. They have taken them away :( I also tried to get them at a service centre and they told me they never saw them online before.

    Queen's University EV Charging Stations

With the Kingston Supercharger not too far away, this charger would be best used as a 'destination' charger. I would use it occasionally. My main concern is with the $30K price. Seems expensive. 2 SCH100 - $5600 Double mount pedestal - $1500 Installation (cables, breakers, green paint...

Charging options near Delta Ottawa City Centre

As Not an Ice was saying, Highway 10 (aka- Division street), going to/from Kingston will save you some KM, and will get you to Ottawa in about the same amount of time as the main highway. It's a fun, curvy road too ! Enjoy the trip, and congratulations on your new car!

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

If you have a supercharger enabled car, it's just plug and play. There is firmware within the adapter itself, but I was told to bring the adapter to my regular service appointments to ensure the adapter firmware is up to date. i used my adapter successfully fresh out of the box, with nothing...

    What's your 90%?

I noticed the same as well. Environmental conditions will be similar too! Last September 2014, at around 60 000 km, I had 362km at 90%. Therefore, lost 5km of range in about 40 000 km worth of driving.

Wiki Places to Charge in Ottawa / Gatineau

That charger is currently malfunctioning and is stuck at 12A. There's a clipper creek station which gives 48A (but then slows to 36) I think there's electrical issues at the location.... hopefully a more permanent installation will solve these problems this summer.

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Yes there was another Quebec plated vehicle charging in kingston. The cable is flexible even in the winter time. Although the parking lines may not be perfectly aligned, it's not a major flaw IMHO. i also noticed a dot on the map in Syracuse (today's press conference ) even though it's not...

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

I'm wondering what will happen to the Kingston 2 temporary stations once their main stations are up and running. Maybe they can park them in Ottawa for a while... Also, as a side note, really glad Syracuse is coming soon, as well as Utica NY !

Is this normal for home charging?

Unplug and replug your UMC. Then manually increase the amperage to 40A. If it drops back to 30A, then you have some sort of problem and should get it checked out. #6 should be sufficient for most installations ( it's what I have) Once set to 30a at a location, the car will stick to 30A...
  39. S

Is this normal for home charging?

No, it's not normal. You should be at 39 or 40 amps. A bad wireing error has occurred. Unplug and plug back in. Dial up the car to 40A. If it falls back to 30, you should check your installation. Your wire gauge is maybe too small or there might be a screw loose somewhere. Make sure the screws...

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

I was at the Montreal service center yesterday. The high-power wall connectors are still limited to 40 A. The superchargers were not activated. Apparently, there are superchargers inside the service bay for the technicians in addition to the ones that are outside for public use.

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

I think the dual chargers are fantastic. It's the difference between waiting 8 hours or 4 hours for your car to charge up. I have 75 000 km on my car - my road trips are usually planned with stops at Sun Country Highway 70+ Amp stations. You'll be able to reach places that the superchargers...
