My understanding is that you need to touch the dashcam icon to save the time clip recording. When you touch it, you will see the icon change to saving/downloading.

New USB adapter solved the issue.

Yeah, brand new SD card from reputable manufacturer. I do have to say the adapter is not from a well known brand to me. I will try another adapter and report back on the situation.

Same issue here. I got a third party software to format the SD card. Works once or twice and after that dashcam icon stays gray. Gave up after 3 weeks... tired to dealing with it.

@tinanbran this is an old post and I am curious to know if your problem eventually went away. I had the car for about 3 weeks and today the screen randomly restarted for the 4th time. Even froze once with skipping noise you described.

Any feedback from current owners I can get? I am about to place an order for Model 3 with LR P but without the performance wheels, upgraded breaks and the spoiler which you can do if you order through their showroom. This move is saving me about $2,500 ($5,000 MSRP package) on 36-month lease...
