Is Phantom Braking Still a Problem?

Yes it still happens. The other thing that still happens is phantom aborted lane changes, car swerving back even though the adjacent lane is clear,

    I am happy with my 9.5" R241's.

A Friends Model Y Shows "Walk Away Lock Not Active" Error While Driving

Mine often says that, but when I walk away it does lock. I never close the app.

    Replika R241 Wheels

I'll try to get a better picture outdoors with a clean car. This will have to do for now.

    Replika R241 Wheels

They have a wire ring thing that holds them on. You need to remove the wheels to take them off. I went back to the tire shop and they popped the rims off, changed caps and put them back on. They didn't charge me, but I think most shops would.

    Replika R241 Wheels

I have black R241's on my Model Y for the winter. On the recommendation of my tire shop, I went with the OEM size 19x9.5. They were concerned with the lower load rating on the smaller wheels. They come with plain black center caps which can only be removed when the wheels are off. So if you...

    2020.44.16

Because this may be the first release in the 2020.44.xx series for some vehicles, If you didn't already have an earlier 2020.44 release, then you would want to see the release notes.

    Auto high beam behavior

Mine too. Unless you switch to low beam with the stalk, in which case it stays on low beam (as it should). My point was that it works properly.
  12. K

Anyone bought Replica r241 19x9.5 for their new Model Y?

I used the Black model 3 caps.
  13. K

    Auto high beam behavior

The term "auto high beam" is misleading and sets the wrong expectation.. They are auto low beam. If you are on high beams, they will auto change to low beams when necessary. The reverse will not happen. if you are on low beams they will never auto change to high beams no matter the setting.

    Ear pain/Pressure help

Can you find someone with a Model Y that would be willing to trade vehicles with you for a few days? Or maybe get Tesla to give you a loaner Model Y for a few days? That way you can find out if all Model Y's have the problem, or if it's just yours. If they all have the problem, you will...

MY LR 19 Inch winter tire setup

Model Y TPMS Sensors in Greater Toronto Area

I went to Tesla Railside (near Lawrence) and spoke to a guy at the main door. He directed me to a door further down which had a door buzzer. I rang it and a guy from parts came out. I told him I wanted to buy 4 sensors and he went inside and got them. No wait, no delay. $400 CAD plus tax.

Do the 2021’s have a softer ride

Not sure if you are refering to me as I didn't say night and day, but I will reply. When I went to the tire shop for the winter changeover, the original tires were at 40, 40, 41 and 41 according to the sensors. The winters are at 42, 42, 42 and 43. I'l probably drop them down a couple of psi.
  20. K

Do the 2021’s have a softer ride

I have a Sept build Model Y, I attribute the harsh ride to the stock Continental tires. I just changed over to winter tires, Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's. The ride is significantly softer and much quieter with the new tires. The new tires are on after market rims (Replika R241 but I don't...

Tesla Model Y - winter tires and wheels in the GTA

First of all, a shout out to Spence Tire. They were super nice to deal with, knowledgeable and did good work. Got a Replika R243 package with X-ICE Snows for the Toyota and the R241/Alpin package for the Model Y. I forgot to bring the Tesla center caps with me for the Model Y. I came back...

    Dashboard off center?

And I thought it was only me... First and only issue at delivery was driver's door hard to close. Needed to slam it. Mobile tech did his best, and door was closing better. He had to move the striker to the point where bare metal was exposed. He set up an appt with a body shop to realign door...

    Tesla Trade in Calculator

It worked perfectly for me. They gave me a fair price within an hour or so. When I placed the order I had to send some pictures including one of the screen with the odometer reading. Original offer was confirmed. When delivery day came, I parked the car close to the new vehicle and we moved...

    Regenerative braking

I have a Sept build Model Y and it still has the choice. Wouldn't bother me at all if "standard" was the permanent setting. It's my second Tesla and I haven't driven a mile on "low" regen.

Tesla Model Y - winter tires and wheels in the GTA

I went with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 104V. I think these are generally available and a good match for the Model Y. You might try this shop. They specialize in Tesla and seemed pretty knowledgable on the phone. https://spencetire.ca/winter-packages Keep in mind that if you are getting winter...

Acceleration boost DOES NOT stay with vehicle (unless it is a private sale)

Tesla has NOT said they value their software at zero. One SA somewhere said that. I know from my trade-in price that they gave me good value for FSD. I agree that the title is misleading. It is stated as if it's a fact and it is not a fact. This entire thread is debating something which is...

    AWD Comparison

I had an X3 and moved to a Model 3, and now a Model Y. The model 3 was better in winter snow and ice than the X3. I expect the same from the Model Y. BUT, it doesn't matter what vehicle you have, you can't stop as fast or as safely on all-seasons as you can on winter tires. If you live where...

Acceleration boost DOES NOT stay with vehicle (unless it is a private sale)

Sorry, but I don't think that is correct. Tesla gave me just $500 less for my FSD model 3 than the price of of a brand new model 3 without FSD. So either the car had no depreciation in a year and 25K Kms (highly unlikely) or they did factor in FSD. I'm pretty sure they factored in FSD. And...

Acceleration boost DOES NOT stay with vehicle (unless it is a private sale)

I traded in my 2019 Model 3 with FSD. I assume they gave me value for the FSD. Otherwise they gave me pretty much 100% of the price of a new model 3.

19" Michelin X-Ice SNOW - Has anyone got them?

My tire shop says January. I went with Michelin Alpin PA4 instead. Cost was $10 CAD more per tire. If X-Ice Snow miraculously becomes available before Nov 1, I will reconsider.

The Y hasn't seen a winter yet, but my Model C defroster was very fast. I'm hoping the Y will be just as good, but we haven't had a frost yet in the big smoke. Model Y Buffeting

A big thank you to the OP for this thread. My new model Y had a bad case of buffetting. I didn't even know that's what it was, just that it was uncomfortably noisy on all but the smoothest of roads. I used the envelope method as in the video for the upper bumpers and turned them out until I...

Speed limit sign recognition coming in next update to Canada

Here we have signs saying something like "restricted speed zone ends". A lot to ask for the Tesla to read and understand that.

Speed limit sign recognition coming in next update to Canada

I mentioned in another thread that I drive through a roundabout on an 80Kmph road and it correctly changes to 20Kmph. However, it remains at 20Km/h until it gets to the next 80Kmph sign. Also, it does not know what to do with conditional speed limits such as "50Kmph when flashing" in a normal...

Regenerative breaking. Model y vs. Model x

The electric motors in Toyota hybrids are way smaller than the Tesla motors, so regen cannot be nearly as strong.
