Stopped by to check on progress a crew was there putting on some of the final touches. The guy who seemed to be in charge said it should open later this week or next.
The information I saw was 11th and Yakamia, we’ve been by that several times no idea where it would fit, no permit on file that I can find. Auburn started permitting in Feb 2019, so much for the end of 2019 for Tacoma
Yes it is, we stop in Centralia frequently it’s next to the outlet mall and charge to 200 + miles and that will get us to Tacoma and back to the Supercharger in Centralia with 20%. Seattle’s charger is in a parking lot were you have to pay for parking, Lynwood is an easy one to get to, but you...
That’s great news we live in Vancouver WA and keep our sailboat in Tacoma, my wife works in Federal Way part time the Auburn supercharger is so convenient, we’re coming up this weekend and will need multiple charges in the area.
Washington state already has a law, this would just change it to be similar to Oregon and California's, much like Disabled Parking Spots nation wide, it would still have to be signed, the lot owner could choose to post it EV charging only, or not.
(1) An electric vehicle charging station must be indicated by vertical signage identifying the station as an electric vehicle charging station and indicating that it is only for electric vehicle charging. The signage must be consistent with the manual on uniform traffic control devices, as...

“A parking space or stall for a person with a disability shall be indicated by a vertical sign with the international symbol of access, whose colors are white on a blue background, described under RCW 70.92.120. The sign may include additional...
Better idea, let’s change the law to more closely match the disabled parking law by removing this section of RCW 46.08.185 “Additionally, the electric vehicle charging station must be indicated by green pavement markings.” I’ve written language to change other laws before and while an uphill...
That may be true in Washington but I seriously doubt ICE cars would know that the pavement has to be green in addition to the sign. The note may be enough that they might just think twice about parking in a charge spot the next time. Certainly won't hurt to educate in a friendly but stern way...
Copy and print some these to keep in your car
If you're not charging - Please don't block the charger
The first rule of public electric vehicle (EV) charging is just common courtesy. If you're not charging an (EV), don't park in front of the plug-in charger. Charging stations are the only place...
My wife & I each drive a Model S and live in southwest Washington state so we use chargers in both on a regular basis, except for the charger in The Dalles OR almost never have an issue with free spaces. I keep several of the following printed and place them on the windshields of ICE cars...
Pulled into the Super Charger yesterday in The Dalles OR which only has 5 pedestals. One Model X was charging and there were 2 huge pickup trucks with dually wheels blocking the other 4 spaces. After 30 minutes we were finally able to get one of the PU drivers to move, frustrating to say the...
