Maintain Cabin Power While Parked or Supercharging

We just came back from long road trip in our 4 months old MY! We love the car, but came across a problem that we're not sure how to resolve. Hopefully, there's a simple work around. I did a few searches here, but didn't find any mentions of the same problem... The problem is, when we're...

ID.4 Canadian pricing announced, undercuts MY LR AWD by $20k CAD :(

Similar size battery to MY, but 20% less range and slower/more sluggish performance = inefficiency!

Impact of Supercharging on Battery Life?

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. Most nearby superchargers are Urban. I think my average rate over the last 8 recharges was around 50 kW. I also try to keep my battery between 25% and 85%, except on long trips. So far, the highest I have charged to was 95% and the lowest was 13%. So far...

Impact of Supercharging on Battery Life?

I got my MY on Dec. 30th and qualified for the free 1-yr supercharging. Since I can't charge at home, I've been using superchargers exclusively and will likely be doing so for at least the next 8 months. I read that supercharging will shorten the battery life. How much damage will it cause...

    Regen Fast or Slow?

Thanks. Yes, coasting is obviously most efficient, but that's assuming you can come to a complete stop at exactly where you want without having to apply any braking either by regen and/or friction. In real life, that's not practical. With Tesla's low rolling resistance, that could take miles...

    Regen Fast or Slow?

Just wondering which method of slowing down provides better regen. If you're going 45 mph with a stop sign coming up, does it provide better energy recovery if you start to slow from far away and gradually come to a stop, or if you continue at 45 mph and fully release the power pedal (ignoring...

Breaking news: Free 2021 Supercharging for 3s and Ys!

Is there supposed to be something that shows up on my account? What should I look for? Tesla delivered my car on 12/31/20 at my home. I went to a supercharger 3 days later on 1/3 and added about 35 kWh without any problem. I have since used SC 4 times. I've never been charged.

Free FSD for 3 months ?

Yes, took delivery yesterday, 12/31. If it were for the offers, I would've waited until 2021...

    Tesla App and SolarEdge Inverter

Oh, that's cool! Did Tesla installed your system? Did they connect and activate your inverters on the SolarEdge site?

    Tesla App and SolarEdge Inverter

Yes, I may have to do that or spend more to upgrade to a mesh system... Thanks all!

    Tesla App and SolarEdge Inverter

Thanks Daniel! I can't imaging I'm the only one with this wifi signal strength problem. If Tesla refuses to install the inverter in the attic or garage, I would think they'll have a different solution to make sure the system is connected to wifi (and charge me for whatever they need to do so)...

    Tesla App and SolarEdge Inverter

Thanks SoCal Dave! That may be a problem because my wifi router is far from my electrical panel where Tesla plans to install the inverter. The wifi signal is very weak there. I'll have to make a request to locate the inverter in the garage or attic (my router is on the 2nd floor).

    Tesla App and SolarEdge Inverter

I'm a newbie on this board and has a Tesla PV system on order. From reading this thread, it appears the SolarEdge inverters are uploading PV power generation data to a central server that can be accessed on their website. How do the inverters do that? Do they connect thru the PV owners' home...

    New Owner's Battery Charging Questions

Hmmm, that's interesting to know. So, it's better to keep topping it off (to 80%) everyday than letting the battery level drop lower before recharging... I would have never guessed there's a difference in the frequency of recharging for the same amount of usage. That's surprising to me....

    New Owner's Battery Charging Questions

Hi, I'm a recent owner of a M3 LR AWD (July 2019). It's been driven less than 3,000 miles. Being new to electric cars, I'd like to better understand what's the best protocol in recharging the battery. I have gathered that the battery charge should, ideally, be maintained between 20% and 80%...
