    12v Switched?

Read back a few pages. It’s been discussed in this thread. essentially, the brown wire will reduce to half voltage if there is excess power draw (eg your amp or standard relay). You need to buy a low resistance relay which the brown car cannot sense so it won’t cut the power in half. I grabbed...

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

I'm sure there are shops that will be willing to take on the challenge. Why don't you give Keith at Soundsgood a call and see if he recommends anyone on the island? He's been in the industry a long time and I'm sure he has hookups everywhere across North America

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

Yes! Keith and the team are amazing!! They have a solution for all the electrical problems. I ended up following that thread and installing my own but only after consulting with Keith in which he gave me the green light to try it myself. I'm so happy that I went with Soundsgood!

There are many different options now with different hardware. I'd recommend calling Soundsgood and speaking with Keith (owner). He'll be able to give you an exact quote.

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

I got mine done at SoundsGood in Burnaby. Kept all the stock speakers but added an 8 channel Audison amp as well as an Audison mono amp powering a 10" Audison subwoofer in a custom built subbox which fits perfectly inside the factory subwoofer location (SR+ just has a hallow spot in the rear...

Congrats! The sr+ system is definitely lacking. The speakers are great but just need some extra power to wake them up. Also the bass is lacking due to the lack of a subwoofer...

It’s a lot of work to install a proper system into a Tesla. You could alternatively do it yourself as well to save some money

Sorry I’m not on here often and definitely didn’t see your response. But yes, my sub goes into the factory location. When I got the system done, my requirement was I didn’t want to lose any storage space

    12v Switched?

You can go with either. The red wire in vcright looks a lot like the vcleft wire and I have a feeling that it has potential to change properties in the future similar to what happened in vcleft. But like @todd2fst4u said, the likelihood of the brown wire changing properties in slim, therefore I...

    12v Switched?

I did see his post about the smaller voltage relays. I’ll see if I can get my regular 12v relay to work first, if not then I’ll need to order another one

    12v Switched?

Thank you! I’ll just tap the signal from the centre console

    12v Switched?

I tried looking for that brown wire today by VCleft. There’s actually 3 brown wires in that harness and I did find the one that was switched but the weird thing was once I tapped the 12v relay to the brown wire, the voltage dropped to ~6.3v. Without the relay it’s ~13.4v....any recommendations...

    12v Switched?

You make a very good point about the signal sense. Maybe I'll tap into the brown wire and relay power from the thicker red wire. I'm also running Audison Prima amplifiers and they have delay turn-on which is adjustable in the settings which is a nice feature.

    12v Switched?

Thank you for that information as well @Idkorcare , maybe I'll have to forward these findings to my installer and maybe i'll be the guinea pig and see what happens. I'm also planning on eliminating the remote wire completely and using the signal from the headunit to turn on the amps. I'm...

    12v Switched?

Thanks for your quick response @todd2fst4u, I brought this to my installer's attention but they seem to think the 12v battery up front would provide a battery "reserve" for the amps. I just hope I don't have to replace the 12v again or else Tesla's gonna think something is fishy. My car is...

    12v Switched?

Hey Audio Gurus, I've been creeping this thread for a while now as I'm having the same issue since the latest update. My current setup has the remote wire tapped into VCLeft but I'm going to try and look for that thin brown wire this weekend. If my understanding is correct, it's bundled in...

by the way, how do you modify posts on this forum?

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

I'm running Audison AP8.9 bit for the speakers and AP1D for the sub. The balance and fade all work. Unfortunately I cannot discuss the price as I've known Keith for many years and this was a one time deal for me. You'll need to contact SoundsGood for an actual quote.

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

I've listened to a premium interior sound system for comparison. The front half of the car sounds almost identical to mine (it should since the speakers are the same and running similar power). The major difference is my mid range speakers pound harder than the premiums. The subwoofer in the...

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

No errors so far. From what I've gathered, you can't tap directly into the 12v battery at the front unless you hook up some sort of resistor to delay the amps from turning on all at once. Even then, you shouldn't need to run the power wires all the way to the frunk when there's a 12v terminal...

Vancouver, BC Model 3 SR+ Subwoofer installation?

I'm the second owner to get the SoundsGood system. I activated the front door tweeters and added a 10" subwoofer similar to 9-Volt (which I listened to at Electrafest). I'm actually going back on Saturday to get the rear shelf speakers activated and system retuned. Since picking up the car...
