OK. Finished reading that other thread. While a hard reboot did not work (also the next suggestion from the SC), powering off the car from the Safety & Security menu did the trick! (would have edited my last but don't see a place to do so) -

Quick update. My original maps version was showing NA-180906-xxxx. I pinged the service center on the text chain. They seemed to think I was on the latest but "pushed" it again. An hour later the car was at NA-2020.12-11866, but the Light & Stop Signs still said "... requires updated maps"... -
