I totally agree ... Adding a supercharger to the Pacific Rim Visitor Information Centre (near the turn off to Ucluelet) would be the obvious location. BC Hydro already has 50 KWh CHAdeMO/CCS1 chargers there, but during the summer I've seen a lineup.

My guess would be CHAdeMO... It's the standard DC fast charging that many other EV's can use. There's also the CSS (J1772 Combo) plug, but CHAdeMO is more common in Canada at this point.

I looks like Tesla is also looking for support from Tesla owners who live in other locations but still support the idea of a supecharger in Jasper. Apparently 99 comments have been collected so far ... these will be shared with the Municipality of Jasper as they consider Tesla’s proposal. Link...

I totally agree ... Valemount seems like the logical location. Another charger in Clearwater, BC would be great too - as the distance from Kamloops to Valemount is 320 km. In the winter, that distance would be borderline with the cold and snow! I plan to drive this highway in July ... At least...

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out... On busy days, idle charges may apply to Tesla owners who "hog" parking spots with chargers, but no penalty for ICE drivers?!

Just to clarify the 16 chargers at Uptown in Victoria - 10 are 30-minute (that anyone can apparently park in?) and 6 are Tesla-only.

Fantastic! In July 2020 I plan to drive from Victoria to Jasper (through Kamloops). There are a couple destination chargers in Blue River, but a Supercharger between Kamloops and Jasper would be a welcome addition to people like me with a Model 3 SR+.

Please let us know what you find out! I've heard some rumours elsewhere that Canadian law requires a key fob to be present or nearby the car for it to drive - however I would think that this is provincially regulated.
