2018 MCU upgrade 2.5>3, what does it enable?

It was noticed yesterday that Tesla cut $4k off the FSD purchase prices. FSD costs $2k over an existing EAP, or $8000 if no existing EAP. The monthly FSD subscription seems still $100/month with $1k hardware upgrade. I have the EAP on my 2018 MX. It's a HW2.5 and MCU2. It's tempting to get FSD...

Creaking/Squeaking control arm ball joint fix

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10203342-9999.pdf is the bulletin. I was told the bulletin correct was done to my X around that time. But my car started to squeak a few weeks ago. I looked at the ball joint and saw nothing about sealing.

Creaking/Squeaking control arm ball joint fix

I found this service bulletin https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10203342-9999.pdf. Apparently their "fix" didn't prevent water ingressing into the ball joint.

Micheline CrossClimate2 for the front and Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport for the rear

Just saw your question. Sorry for the long delay. I ended up getting the OEM Continental.

Aftermarket wiper blade for Model X (2019)?

I replaced the wiper blades successfully. I also used a flathead screw driver and carefully removed end cap of the wiper. The end cap is plastic. The blade refills linked to Amazon earlier in this thread fit well. The refill can slide out and in once the end cap is removed. The end cap also...

Aftermarket wiper blade for Model X (2019)?

Do you have any instruction or video about how to remove and install the refill? Thanks!

Micheline CrossClimate2 for the front and Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport for the rear

Yeah I probably will go for Contis. Just realized that CC2 on rear may have a big advantage for tread wear. The rear two tires can be swapped, to balance out the inner tread wear for X (the inner would become outer) . The ContiSilent has one side clearly marked as outside, which denies side...

Micheline CrossClimate2 for the front and Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport for the rear

My rear should be above 80% tread. I probably should have replaced the fronts when I did the rear. My rear two were not in the same age but close, because of road hazard injuries. Thank you for the info about range loss. It's a big minus for me to consider CC2. I am in Bay Area and rarely go on...

Micheline CrossClimate2 for the front and Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport for the rear

Tires on M-X cannot be rotated. They are in the different sizes. Wearing faster on the inner tread of rear tires on Model X is well known, because the rear wheels by factory setting lean inward. I believe it's called camber. So I guess mixing new/old tires between front and rear are common for...

Micheline CrossClimate2 for the front and Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport for the rear

I have a 2018 Model X 75D. It is our family car. I need change my front tires, which are the original factory Continental. The rear pair were replaced already and still in pretty good shape. The rear are Continental ContiSilent CrossContact LX Sport. Since it is a family car we don't drive...

    Tire puncture

The two tire center chains, America's Tire and Costco, told me to replace. A smaller shop said they could try to plug. I'm not sure how good/safe a tire plug would be. The nail puncture is on the tread, about 2/3 of inch to the wall (I guess it is called shoulder?)

    Tire puncture

I got the 4th flat tire on my MX a couple days ago because of a nail since I bought this car about 5 years ago. For 3 of the 4, tire shops like America's Tire and Costco said the injuries were too close to the wall to be patched and I had to replace the tire. This time it would cost more than...

MX - Is removing 2016-2017 6S or 5S/7S middle row easier?

About something else in the OP. Is the free supercharging transferable? I had an impression it is not, or it is a thing in EU but not in the US.

Unable to sign into app or Tesla account

The outage was reported on news and it said people were locked out their cars? Did keys stop working, or just phone app?

    Flat tire

Keep an air pump in the car. it's likely that you could pump up the tire and drive to a tire shop/service center nearby. If the tire damage is bad, for example the car ran flat for some distance, a regular portable pump may not help.

    Feeling Cheated

The service plan was a thing back in 2018, 1st yr, 2nd yr, .... Then they removed maintenance items from the schedule multiple times and the schedule is now close to nothing. I went for a 2-year maintenance a couple months ago, was told no need to do so. It's good for general owners except those...

MX17 - FalconWing Door weather stripping deteriorating - Not covered by Warranty

This post is a good timing for me. I went to SC in July. They warranty covered the windshield cracked by itself and the yellow boadered display glass, but refused to replace the deteriorating falcon door weather striping. For the wind shield they agreed to cover after finding no sign of impact...

Secure Second Row Seatback Warning, 7 Seater

It's working as intended. I was told by a SC adviser this warning was added in an OTA not long ago. Annoying, yes. Something wrong, no. Was it intended to nudge drivers not folding down the 2nd row? What the purpose? I can only guess things in the trunk would have a higher chance become a...

Is Tesla service deteriorating as they scale??

I felt the service deterioration too. I think the high volume of warranty services was a major reason. Many of service needs came from the poor manufacturing quality. I got my new X in 2018. I found several issues at delivery. I finally accepted it only after they put my nearby service center...

    Spontaneous windshield crack?

It didn't happen to any of other cars I ever owned or drove. It was a typical mild afternoon, in 80's Fahrenheit or high 20's Celcius, no rain nor hail. During my research I heard someone else said this kind of crack happened as "normal". However that does not mean it isn't a defect. The larger...

    Spontaneous windshield crack?

The Tesla service center took it as a warranty issue. So I didn't pay money for the repair. They inspected the crack and didn't see any impact. It's a happy ending.

    Spontaneous windshield crack?

I checked the crack. It's on the inside layer. So I think it was very likely due to the unbalance stress and should be under the warranty. I have an appointment with Tesla Service Center next week. I will let you know what they will say.

    Spontaneous windshield crack?

My 2018 Model X windshield cracked today, without any sign of physical impact. I am wondering how. We went to a local county park. The windshield was fine when I parked and put up the sunlight shield (from inside). I found the crack 1.5 hours later when pulled down the sunlight shield to go...

    Voice Command Button

Hmm... I got this problem before, fixed, now it came back. I don't remember how it was fixed last though. Time to make a service appointment.
