    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

I’m sure they are just running MAME, which can quite nearly run anything. What they chose to include probably has more to do with what ROMs they could cheaply/easily license.

    Elon Musk

    Ok.

    Elon Musk

    I....
  4. S

    Elon Musk

You don’t hold certain people to higher standards? Anyway, my standards don’t matter. In this case, the rules of defamation apply equally to Elon as to anyone else.
  5. S

    Elon Musk

Yeah I rarely have disagreed with Bonnie, but I have to this time. Whether or not people have been unfair to Musk (I think obviously many quarters have, with sometimes great vehemence), he has a responsibility to stay above it, and it's never been clear to me his "fight back" attitude on twitter...
  6. S

    Elon Musk

Ok, I see. You misunderstand I think. Despite Elon's earlier (and appropriate) positive tweets, NOW the story is simply a negative one, centered on him. He's redirected the discussion from the heroics and positive outcome and now it's all about his temper. Does that make sense?
  7. S

    Elon Musk

    IT. DOESN'T. MATTER.
  8. S

    Elon Musk

Again, this is just a “who started it” argument. Yes, the dive coordinator was insulting and I wish he’s been more adult in his criticism. Elon’s reponse is on a whole other disastrous level.
  9. S

    Elon Musk

That’s a really great point and makes his behavior so much more puzzling that he doesn’t realize this.
  10. S

    Elon Musk

Wait, I’m a hypocrite for calling for responsible behavior from those wielding power? Up until this month, I’ve been a pretty staunch Elon defender, for all his faults. No more. To be clear, this isn’t the first time Elon has made accusations or bashed people on twitter. Each time, an army of...

    Elon Musk

Don’t make me quote Spiderman at you people.

Elon Tweeting about Thailand and Reputation

I see no evidence that Elon is an adult.
  13. S

    Elon Musk

LOL, guilty as charged, but you get what I mean right?
  14. S

    Elon Musk

Most of us aren’t billionaires with 22 million followers on Twitter.
  15. S

    Elon Musk

There are two possibilities, either Elon doesn’t realize his own power or he does. Neither is good.
  16. S

    Elon Musk

I can’t believe you are defending this behavior. What do you think is going to happen to this guy who has now been accused of something horrible by a billionaire?
  17. S

    Elon Musk

Well I guess that makes it ok then, if he’s mad. That’s a common defamation defense. /s Elon needs to grow up and find himself a filter.

CR full test of Model 3 - falls short on recommendation

Just curious, what cars are you used to? The 3 is definitely a more stiff car than others, but it’s in line with other sporty vehicles I’ve owned and driven. (For the record, I have the “old” suspension).

    A-Pillar Misalignment - Serious Issue?

 Yes, I was suggesting everyone damage their cars as a serious solution to misaligned panels.
  20. S

    A-Pillar Misalignment - Serious Issue?

It was a joke. Jeez. This place is a bore.
  21. S

    A-Pillar Misalignment - Serious Issue?

Anyway none of this matters once you curb a wheel. ;)
  22. S

    A-Pillar Misalignment - Serious Issue?

I'm enjoying mine, so I guess it depends on your value of "right".
  23. S

    A-Pillar Misalignment - Serious Issue?

For what it's worth, I went around a parking lot and looked at a variety of cars recently for just this specific issue (A-pillar alignment). Most were out by some degree or another. Some as bad as the Tesla in this photo (Toyotas, Hondas), some not as bad. A lot of them get away with it by not...

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

It’s the way all entrenched industries work until there’s a disruptor. And I’m sure GM is doing their optimal best, right?
  25. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Let's see, 3 million cars, $1bn profit works out to $333 per car profit. Yikes, that is a slim reed. I wouldn't be crowing about that.
  26. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Sure pal. You are right, I should have just driven both cars around, one with each foot, squealing about the money I was saving.
  27. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

The 3 was more fun and comfortable to drive. But yes, I love wasting money and that was a big part of the plan. Does every decision you make involve an economic calculation? Think of all the money I could have made if only I’d worked instead of surfing/going to the movies/sleeping.
  28. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

    It’s not a counter argument , it’s a warning.
  29. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

    Tailgating is against the law.
  30. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Why are you allowed to exceed the speed limit? Why can you drive the vehicle with your seat belt unbuckled? Why can you go 0-60 faster than is arguably safe in many venicles?
  31. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Our S sat idle for the last month of its lease.
  32. S

Model 3 - 1st impressions (for real this time)

Ours is loud. Not too much to be annoying, but it’s certainly louder than our S was. I could see it being too much for some people.
  33. S

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

None of this matters. Tesla can’t make enough cars to satisfy demand, and that’s going to continue indefinitely, because demand is sky high and they are still ramping up. A bad (or good) review doesn’t change anything. If you have the car, enjoy it, it’s great. If you don’t have the car, gather...

    2018.10.5 Arrived

Only on certain roads (as it has been for quite a while). Did you see this on a highway?

The "Is Tesla Going Bankrupt?" thread

Does anyone seriously think that Telsa would go Chapter 7, shut down the works and no one would pick up the operation? That’s nonsense. Someone would buy them, in a heartbeat.

    Anyone get autopark to work?

Auto park doesn’t use lines. It uses other cars as references. If you don’t have two cars on either side of the space (or some other structure) it doesn’t work. You can summon your car into your garage once that feature gets enabled on the 3.
  37. S

    Anyone get autopark to work?

It’s not just the cameras for auto park that need to calibrate as I understand it. The ultrasonics also need to see cars and curbs a bunch. Do some urban driving and it should finish soon.
  38. S

    2018.10.5 Arrived

    Always.
  39. S

    Bluetooth Delay

This is common with bluetooth audio, you’ll also see it with bluetooth headphones. Some things are better than others, but bluetooth audio latency is a known drawback. Having said that, it’s probably something that could be improved (since your other car isn’t as bad), maybe let Tesla know?
  40. S

    2018.10.5 Arrived

Yes the key functinality is done through bluetooth LE, otherwise it would murder phone batteries. Like you say, I suspect there are some bugs on Tesla’s side of things.
  41. S

    2018.10.5 Arrived

BLE will open the app in the background when it acquires its paired endpoint. I.e. even if Tesla is terminated, the car connecting to the phone should start it. So termination is not the issue here.
  42. S

    Model 3 crazy vampire drain

Yup. It’s the battery contactors opening and closing. Not sure why it does this, our S is silent.
  43. S

    Clicking & Clunking while Parked

Nope, mine is the battery contactors. 99% sure. Sounds like a very large solenoid closing and opening.
  44. S

    Clicking & Clunking while Parked

It’s fine to say “don’t worry about it, it’s not harmful to the car”. However, my bedroom is just above our garage and it’s loud enough clunking all night to be disruptive. Usually it stops if I completely diable bluetooth on my phone and make the app focus on our S, but not always. It’s...

    Tearing in Tesla's Model 3

There are manual releases for the rear doors?
  46. S

    Tearing in Tesla's Model 3

Yeah our Toyota’s panels are a mess too. I’ve never noticed on cars before people around here made a fuss. Now I see misalignment and imperfections on most cars.
  47. S

    Tearing in Tesla's Model 3

None of this is going to matter.
