sorry - 40-50k Cybertrucks estimated for production in 2024 is anemic compared to the massive volumes the 3 and Y are doing.

lol. so per his prior tweet expansion is slowing down with the focus on expanding existing chargers and uptime ... and now he is spending "well over $500 million" this year alone on expansion with "thousands of new chargers". "thousands of new chargers" = 2,000 new stalls minimum ("thousands")...

on a corporate side - salaries as cost factor are usually accounted as "all in". which as the other person stated includes taxes, benefits, employer contributions health care etc. I would also assume that the head of the SC team had substantial compensation in stock options.

agreed. with the anemic production numbers of the Cybertruck and slow ramp up + a Model 2 which needs to be developed and a Y refresh and whatnot.... Tesla isn't going to drop even more engineering resources on that niche vehicle

a brief look at future sites for EvGO, EA, chargeplug tells you the opposite... and some of those "future non-Tesla sites" have been listed for YEARS and still aren't there. so yeah.... not holding my breath

Superchargers and "Service" Centers are probably the two functions Tesla should be laying off LAST. Again - if nothing goes wrong and mobile service can fix it ... owning a Tesla is fine. Once the Service Center gets involved and the repair is a bit more complex.... you will hate it.

Same here. The decision to double down on Vision only and not introduce a radar unit like EVERY other OEM killed it for me. With radar activated i had near zero PB’s on TACC / AP but then Elmo decided to software delete my radar unit and since then I’m enjoying how limited the webcams are….

I know 2 stations which got upgraded: Armore / OK and Waco / TX. both had been *epic* disasters on busy weekends for YEARS before Tesla finally expanded them. So yeah - they it wasn't high on their priority list and probably even lower now with the entire team fired.

well those are actually fairly easy to install/ build and *plenty* of places offer them. My work has 12x Ford branded L2 charging stalls in the garage and with the adapter they work just fine. you could also just put a bunch of NEMA 14-50 outlets in a garage or so. lots of possibilities =...

Tesla is by definition a car company. The “we are a tech company who happens to make cars” is just Elon’s shtick to justify the P/E of the stock price. Meanwhile their operating margins are definitely car company and not tech company territory.

Firing the entire team responsible for selecting new sites, getting permits, working with local contractors to install on site … that’s one way to ensure expansion is “slowing down”. Per the NYT article they quote a construction company installing superchargers for Tesla and all their Tesla...

They even quote a company who installs chargers for Tesla and overnight the 20 people they work with at Tesla got fired and the email bounced back. Imagine being in the charger installation business and you can’t reach anyone at Tesla anymore for ongoing projects/ installs. Yikes.
