I found it much better with full bass boost, but it still won't exactly kick ... not sure that's even possible from a shallow 8" sub (I'm not a sub expert).

For what it's worth, if I were to do it again I would probably still choose to buy Version B. From recent posts it even sounds like Hansshow has corrected the wiring harness (which was never a huge problem, just took longer to install than it should have). Could the sub be stronger ... yes...

It's the same for all of us who are not installing the Hansshow rear speakers as they have cut the harness to provide wire for their speakers instead. See previous posts about how to reconnect them. It's definitely worth doing as I find those rear speakers contribute a lot.

I was wondering the same thing! I guess it wouldn't be too hard to run a test cable and see if it makes any difference.

That maybe explains why I was expecting to find the amp in the center console, lol! I did watch a lot of their videos and came away thinking it was in the center of the car. Would make sense if it was a rhd car in the video with the amp on right side.

in fairness to Hansshow, they have followed up and answered every question I sent them, so my experience with their customer service has been good. I agree they were very sloppy in not getting the wiring harness right (the sub phase, right/left speakers, etc.).

I just checked mine and it is labelled 30a, but unless my car is lying it is definitely pulling 32a (it's my daily charger).

hmmm ... I don't think the amp will be on the left hand side as that would require Tesla to run a lot of different wiring from lhd (something they would avoid due to costs). I don't see how the steering rack would be in the way of the amp which is tucked all the way on the side of the footwell...

I wonder why they decided to mount it on left side (eliminating the cubby hole storage) rather than the factory location. It does look impressive exposed rather than hidden.

Did you try adjusting the gain and bass boost on the sub? I'm going to give that a try to see if I can get a bit more kick. I'm currently set at Hansshow's recommendations, which has the gain at about 40% and bass boost at about 60%.

For those with Version B trying to connect factory rear speakers but having a hard time because the amount of wire left on the plug is too small to make a connection ... I just had a thought. You should be able to bypass the plug entirely if you just snip the corresponding wires on the factory...

I didn't order the rear speakers either (early 2020 with factory rear speakers). My harness was not cut like that. I had two pairs of wires coming out with an unterminated end (long enough to feed the speakers on the rear deck). I will just coil the extra up and will tuck it out of the way.

Does anyone have a link or copy of install guide for Version B? I guess Version E will be similar, although it's a different DSP.

Nov-7, so a little over 2 weeks. UPS has had it in Montreal since Friday morning ... not sure why it wasn't delivered yesterday (it was marked out for delivery). Probably no time to install until the weekend anyway, but I am anxious to unbox it.

I ordered Version B (same sub as E). I'm told it will be an 8*8 sub, and yes I'm hoping it is comparable to the 10" one the were offering. Worst-case I figure I'll have the wiring and DSP and can always swap-out the sub later if I'm really not satisfied. Or maybe even try to find a deal on...

The price for Version B without rear speakers is $431 after the group buy discount. I think this is what I will order as I'm not interested in replacing the existing rear speakers and don't feel it's worth the extra for a better DSP. Seems like a pretty good price to me.
