I agree. The only reason I assumed it would be PG&E was as the installation crew was leaving they told me the "power company" had to run underground cables to connect. I never thought it would be farmed out - but makes sense.
Thanks for the info.
Still no hookup to PG&E.
We just had 4 days electrical outage pretty much all over the Peninsula and are expecting another lengthy storm end of this week.
PG&E is extremely busy with these outages, so my guess is March/April.... or even May .... 2024
No, do not, cannot and have no reason to try to charge both vehicles at the same time on that one line to the charger.
We had a line installed (years ago) from the main panel (oppostite side of house from garage). That line goes to a sub panel (installed on Garage wall) which has installed in...
In 2013, shortly after Tesla installed our solar panels, we had a 50A line run from our main panel, to the detached garage - installed a separate small panel for it (nothing else on that panel). Then ran a cable from that panel behind the drywall to the opposite wall for the Tesla charger (40A)...
No... We have two Teslas and previously charged one at a time on the 50A line we had run to the garage when our first of 3 Teslas was bought in 2013. Having just the two now - we would only charge one at a time, which was not a problem. My wife's commute is about 120 miles - mine is 3 miles...
I was told by the crew (as they were 'departing the site') that PG&E had yet to run a 'line' from the street - puportedly underground'. I don't see a spot for the telltale green transformer, so not sure what will be the indication that opening is eminent. PG&E has different priorities with the...
We had our Tesla home charger removed at request of Tesla due to a Powerwall installation - which is an addition to our Tesla solar panels that were installed in 2013 (no reason given). Were told if we want to put it back after, that's our choice. Still haven't - but we have been able to charge...
Had Powerwall added to Solar installation (2013) last month - got PTO within 3 days after inspection. Still trying to get Powerwall battery added to App. Impossible to get help from Tesla.
Any suggestions?
Yes, I agree. That space where 10 of the 12 chargers are sitting is usually the location of the Christmas tree sales and would be fenced off for well over a month. When that happens parking is really at a premium... so Iam sure there will be non electric cars sitting here for more than the 60...
OK... went to site to find location of the elusive green transformer (to be jnstalled by PG&E)
Took this pic - about to leave and a worker truck pulls in). I ask about transformer and was told PG&E has to pull a line from out on the street. He pointed to the location of the yellow cover (in the...
Has been relatively low activity last couple of weeks... so yes must be on PG&E (which is currently very busy cleaning up last winter's disasters and preparing for this winter coming.)
Haven't seen any mention of amenities...
Relatively small shopping center... there is a Luckys grocery store...
No major progress at this time..... A relatively small parking lot - will take up a big chunk of space.
Appreciate this addition - we deal with a ton of weekenders all year round. I llve 1/2 mile away. Pebble beach is 1/4 mile from here so lots of Teslas. Will use in emergency as the garage...
Don't care about range.... as long as I'm paying less than 5 cents a mile - I'm happy. Actually averaging between 3.5 to 4 (which varies based on conditions and my driving mood). This is with 2 MS's and an M3 combined total of over 400,000 miles.
I remember a time when it was difficult for Tesla to get approval to build a Supercharger. I think if one can be installed NOW at any location - do it !!!!
Tesla sales have increased dramatically and will continue to do so. If there's a choice to build at location A or B and B says go - then do...
Yup weekenders use this a lot. But there are several locations close that don't usually get that much traffic. A new one is planned down by one of the wharfs, but not much happening lately.
Don't know the statistics, but I find I get highest charge rates when I start preconditioning 30+ miles out and battery level when I plug in is less than 20%. That's with my Model 3. My wife's Model S's (current and former) never seem to charge at a very high rate similar to the Model 3.
If I...
If there are fleet cars parked in a charger spot and not connected, wouldn't it be a neighborly thing to plug it in for them. (I'm guessing whoever parked forgot to plug it in). I'm sure they will return to move the car before the idle fees start accumulating.
uhhhhhh!!!! Sorry. In 2021 my son challenged me to do all 50 states in one year. I did the 48 in my M3. !st trip was 3 day weekend from here in Central coast California to Portland, Oregon crossing the Columbia River (which put me in Washington State.) Distance for the 45 states was just under...
Yes, of course, there are many 72kW chargers out there also being used. Some locations have a mixture since additional chargers , being added, were of the newer type. So, I am betting that if any additional ones are installed here, they will be the newer chargers.
Yes, been waiting for a few years. Along with Cody Wyoming, one of the tricky areas to get through. However, Cody makes for an interesting overnight stay and has several destination chargers.
Stopped by. There is no way that I could find that you will get to the chargers without paying. There is no cashier - you pick up ticket at entrance and pay at a kiosk before going to retrieve your car. Unless there is a large restructure of the 'enter and exit' facility, ya gotta pay.
1st pic...
Not too far from location of the Diner from the movie of the same name. Although a Diner was placed there - it wasn't actually a real diner - but sat there for several years after the movie. Also of note - there is a pic of a Zeppelin flying overhead (pre WW II ) with the swastika on it's tail...
