MASTER THREAD: Powering house or other things with Model 3

I'm getting ready for winter in Ukraine, and want to extend the autonomous time of my existing setup consisting of UPS ZASILACZ AWARYJNY SINUS PRO 800 E 12/230V (500/800W) | VOLT POLSKA with external 100Ah lead battery. By connecting under-seat 12V DC outlets on my 2018 model 3 to the buffer...

REAR FACING ONLY child seats in M3- which ones have you used if you're over 6' tall?

I have twins, whom I drove rear-facing until the age of 3. The seats are Britax Marathon and Combi Coccoro. the latter is a good choice for a newborn, gives better access than specialized infant seats because of the seatbelt path. I'm 182 cm tall, for marathon to fit behind me I had to raise my...

    12 volt battery options

have you noticed any weird reading from the monitor? I wonder how Tesla is testing the battery when it comes up with a "replace low voltage battery" warning message.

in this video from your channel, the charger gives 83kW when model 3 is at 70% SOC would the charging speed go down after 70%, as it does on a supercharger?

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

huge kudos on the adapter, opening the closeted teslas is very much welcome. how does point 3 interact with charging speed that needs to taper down when higher SOC?

    Ccs1(dc combo) test finish

I really hope there's CCS type 2 version of this adapter in works. Most of the teslas in Ukraine are imported from US, ability to charge on european CCS chargers would be a saver for us.

    Model 3 with kids

1-year old twins experience: - the roof tint is not sufficient on a sunny day, the sunshade is a must. I got myself one from amazon with reflective layer, it made the climate in the back much better. Am now considering a noggle, to provide cool air directly to toddlers, as they are rear-facing...

Twin babies in rear-facing seats in Model 3(imported from US)

Sharing my experience now. With my daughters at around 11 kg, and a seat weighing under 5 kg - my US-specced M3 consistently detects it correctly and displays airbag off sign on the display. The airbag sign is not actionable despite what I've read in some version of the manual.

    Model 3 Glass Roof Sunshade

Got myself Mixsuper sunshade from amazon, that was mentioned here. Got sold on by the reflective insert. It does its job, now I don't feel the heat irradiated from the glass roof onto my head. And the climate overall improved, especially on the rear seats the air conditioning now is adequate...

Floor anchor point for a rear-facing infant seat

I have Combi Cocoro infant seat with a tether to be anchored to the floor. Like this: or this: Where can I do that in a M3? I'm considering passing a webbing loop under black crossbars: but am worried if the strain might brake the latches that lock the cushion.

    "Export" vs "Domestic" side mirrors

I tried ordering European insert from UK service center, their reply was: The VIN does not relate to a vehicle that is on the UK or European Market, so this will prevent us from proceeding with your order. Apparently they had their policy changed since last year :(

How many amps can you get from the 12V system for emergency situations?

Thanks, for the update There's a surge in the current when the fridge compressor runs and especially starts, and it does put peak current to the test. But when averaged over several hours, modern fridge consumes under 30W (A+ energy label stands for 273kWh per year).

How many amps can you get from the 12V system for emergency situations?

Hi That 0.7V seems to translate to a 5% loss just between a battery and inverter. Had you tried running the system for some time at considerable load? What's the ballpark of overall efficiency? Would there be any warnings from the car after a battery discharges considerably?

Twin babies in rear-facing seats in Model 3(imported from US)

Our twin daughters are 11month old now, and I'm getting Model 3 next week. In my current BMW 1- series (not the X) one baby seat is in front, other in the back in the middle seat, so the passenger gets to face both babies and manage/entertain them. Both the passenger(170cm) and the...
