    front suspension aggressively squeaking

Mine did. I ordered a salvaged improved version (G) of the right front upper control arm assembly that had 17k miles through eBay delivered for $60 a couple years ago. It was quiet for a year and at the first slight creak, I separated it so I could fully wiggle it and it's been quiet for six...

Turn Signal Light Fault - Service Is Required To Restore Functionality

My wife just got this after a pressure spray type car wash. Next drive she got that message. Turn signals were rapid on the side they worked, and a headlight is kaput and wet inside. I suppose I need a new headlight at least.

Insulate the battery in cold weather?

Hey guys, I started logging trip data with Dashboard for Tesla/TeslaFi and Minnesota just got a dose of winter so the data will come. Watching the app while my wife drives her non-insulated car slowly on short jaunts and me driving the insulated one far and fast, I'm convinced the increased...

Insulate the battery in cold weather?

That was installation day, 49 miles between home and brother-in-law's shop. I don't normally document this stuff but like anyone curious, I have watched the energy graph to learn how speed, heater and A/C, outside temperature, smooth vs. rough lane, and precipitation and snow pile effect energy...

Insulate the battery in cold weather?

Same day, temperature (20°F), no wind, 60 MPH top speed enroute to and from shop. Non wrapped 358 Wh/mi, wrapped 309. Again, I drive a Model 3. 60 feet was not enough. Don't start this without 90 feet of 3M's SJ3550 Dual Lock or your preferred sticky stuff. Mine is holding, but until I get the...

Insulate the battery in cold weather?

I ordered 60 feet of 3M Dual Lock tape (turbo charged all weather velcro) to cover both my M3s' batteries with reflectix. Can't wait to try -30 eFfing degrees again. Last year it kicked my butt. I'll report results in a week or two :-)

Insulating the panoramic roof in winter

1/4" fan fold sheathing vapor barrier works great. I had this on hand for my house and remembered last winter having to wear my hood or hat in the car. Starting cold, at -30 F it never would warm up to the set point on my two hour commute. With this insulated glass ceiling and the heated seats...
