This truck design had better be a joke....

The more I review everything the more it seems that the truck really was built for Mars and little has been done to take into account the issues this creates for a mass market product. The exoskeleton means any substantial accident would compromise the overall structural integrity, the strength...

This truck design had better be a joke....

I think if they had introduced a body on frame pickup that was a slightly more conventional version of this... it would have kept stock high, and would have probably led to even more pre-orders. They could have brought both out on stage, and you could have seen how the design language led to...

This truck design had better be a joke....

I think it's safe to say even if you looks past the polarizing design, the truck cannot be built in it's current form. I think the pedestrian impact safety standards would create an issue if the front bumper and hood are made of stainless steel that resists both sledgehammer and bullet impacts...

Forget the truck (please), can we talk about that trainwreck of a reveal?

However, things can be planned months, weeks, days, hours, or minutes in advance. Elon has since tweeted that they were throwing the same ball at the same truck just prior to the event and it didn't damage the window.... though that could be damage control who knows.

Quick Sketch showing how Cybertruck could be refined...

Elon sent a pretty famous e-mail to SpaceX staff discussing why he did not want to take the company public, he pretty clearly articulated that the goal had always been and remained to make humans an interplanetary species and if going public hurt that goal that they should not do it. That they...

Quick Sketch showing how Cybertruck could be refined...

I'm not sure what the point of the design was... most of the feedback I'm seeing is the flat panels weren't so much because the design was good, but rather because the material is hard to work with. For example this design is surprisingly not aerodynamic... What I did was one take of many I...

Forget the truck (please), can we talk about that trainwreck of a reveal?

I wonder if they fully realize the gravitas of the situation. They are in a strong position, but there will be a race to capture the electric truck market, and while the specs were good... they need to convince a lot of rather traditional automotive customers to make a big leap, and divisive...

Forget the truck (please), can we talk about that trainwreck of a reveal?

That was my guess, a lot of the presentation seemed disjointed as though they weren't on the same page. My thought is someone didn't expect them to do that, though the drop test was it and didn't install the correct glass on the truck... They really need to spend some money on people to clean...

Quick Sketch showing how Cybertruck could be refined...

I agree, the truck is very, very, preproduction from what was shown. Looks like a concept vehicle to show future design language that is drivable. It is hard to create a break out design, this goes a little too far in my book and alienates a large group that Tesla should be focused on...

Quick Sketch showing how Cybertruck could be refined...

I quickly sketched this out on my lunch... there are some ways that the design could be refined a bit to be more appealing to a larger demographic. To achieve the goals Elon laid out for Tesla, the pickup truck market has to be targeted aggressively.

This truck design had better be a joke....

I mean you aren't wrong, when viewed close up this is a clearly a driving concept vehicle. I'm sure it will get refined quite a bit between now and production, the question is will they keep the most disputed design elements or tone it down to go after a larger market share?

This truck design had better be a joke....

I was cringing a bit when the video did not seem to be well-synced to the presentation Elon was giving and the slides seem to bounce back and forth. However, when the window broke and then the second window broke, my initial thought was someone is going to get fired. It visibly threw off the...
