Aftermarket installers in Dallas, Houston, Austin area

I have a couple of aftermarket devices to install, but I no longer have a garage facility, and frankly am getting too old to get out and get under. I live in the Dallas area, even Tyler to Houston, San Antonio and Austin wold be doable. If anyone could oint me to someone in the area who could...

    A Cybertruck Tow Competition...

He had split the power unevenly between the axles, but I wonder if had he split 50-50 or just 100% to the rear axle what difference it might have made? Pretty impressive, tho. The Diesel pickup weighed much more than the CT, which I had not expected.

Well, someone finally did it. Took a a Cybertruck to a Tractor Pull. See how the CT did against a Diesel Pickup truck...

Suppressing Safety Restraint System Fault errors due to removal of rear seat?

Sounds like a solid mod. And likely can be restored to factory if you decide to sell. I'm still trying to research the pinout of the connectors, and see how a dummy load could be constructed to fool the system into thinking the sensors are happy. If they are just contact closures that should be...

Suppressing Safety Restraint System Fault errors due to removal of rear seat?

In he Blue Bunny, the seat heaters are extant but not plugged in. And of course, since I didn't pay for the trim level, the software won't turn them on. IIRC, the S3XY buttons might, but there's really no need for them in my application. On removing the seat cushion, there's a couple of...

    Supercharger - Tyler, TX

Don't know where... As I said, the hole for the nozzle doesn't move or appear to have anything mobile or removable. The Charging handle (nozzle?) was a standard NACS. Only one hose, nuthin but Tesla. Still had the clear plastic covering the handle.

Suppressing Safety Restraint System Fault errors due to removal of rear seat?

Hmmm... I was thinking more of just removing the seat cushion, disconnecting the Seat Heaters and perhaps defeating the Occupancy sensors. Then I would think the backs would lie flat, perhaps a wood box around the periphery for support/esthetics. HOLD THE WEDDIN'! You refer to your Model Y...

I am not sure about the Magic Docks. The socket for the handle storage is fixed - nothing moves or wiggles, and it does not look like the Magic Docks I have seen. I did look at the QR Code URL, and no mention kade of a Magic Doc. ISTR those mount in the cavity of the classic V2/V3 Supercharger...

Last weeks' software updates changed some things, didn't fix others.

YAY! Another voice crying in the wilderness! I DETEST headlights on in the daytime. When I learned to drive, headlights in the daytime meant am emergency condition existed - taking someone to hospital, whatever. Daytime Running Lights using headlights are annoying. In fact, some cars will run...

PLEASE let me know how you did it. I need the fully flat floor, don't carry passengers and don't want to deal with nags.

You can not dispute errors- because it’s always in Teslas favor .

It is unfortunate that you are so unhappy. Perhaps Tesla is not the brand for which you yearn. Mayhap you would be happier cutting your loss, disposing of your Tesla products and finding another brand that would suit your needs? Seriously, EVs are not for everyone, Tesla is not for everyone. No...

Was a Tyler S/C site. 16 V4 stye dispensers but v3 power gear 250KW. Apparently no adapters for other than Tesla. Tesla logo MAY be backlighted below charging handle stow. Haven't loaded the QR code yet. Pedestal next to control cabinets blank with conduits awaiting but has no transformer...

I was not aware the Model X was such a hangar deck lily. Yes, I knew here were some teething problems with the doors, but have not been aware with ongoing issues. My neighbor loves his, and hasn't experienced your issues. YMMV, I guess. And of course, Tesla is not the only auto manufacturer to...

    CleanCam rear camera washer

I guess it is YMMV. I bought my Teslas to use and to drive until the wheels fall off, as I have done with my vehicles since 1964. he near lack of maintenance expense on the Teslas is a major consideration. What service/repair has been needed was taken care of in a smart, seamanlike manner, and I...

Too bad you have had such negative experiences with Tesla. I live in the Dallas area, have bought three Model 3s, and am as happy as a poule d'eau in a canary's cage with them. The Dallas Service Center has been excellent, for routine things and an emergency wheel replacement. When some cull...

    CleanCam rear camera washer

I have a love / hate relationship with Tesla. I truly love my Model 3s, am Jonesing for an S, but HATE that Tesla does some really stupid things from time to time. Lack of a rear window washer/wiper. Lack of the rear camera washer, lack of a front camera at bumper level. All of these things...

[Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

Perhaps. But 133+ in my car is not out of the ordinary. So I just leave the Scheduled departure set for 0730 or so and it resets the clock. Waste energy and battery, you say? A mere bag of shells, Norton... I have solar charging at home. A mere bag of shells.

[Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

Actually, friend, I have had the issue with a 2002 Buick LeSabre, a 2004 Taurus, and of course, the original Olds. That was an extreme case, as my MIL seldom used it, and it sat in the South Louisiana sun its first 10 years. None of my cars were EVER SMOKED IN. My 2020 Model3 had a film...

Suppressing Safety Restraint System Fault errors due to removal of rear seat?

Hmmm... it would not have occurred to me that the weight sensors or the belt latch sensors might be analog. Is this something you know, or are you surmising? I've thought about removing the seat in order to get the floor flat myself. Why this is necessary, I'll never know, Tesla is not the only...

Suppressing Safety Restraint System Fault errors due to removal of rear seat?

Take the rear seat and an ohmmeter. Trace the switch wiring (in the seat) to the connector and figure out what is connected when the seat belt is connected and when it is not. You might need to determine the wiring of the occupancy sensors, but I bet just mimicking the seat belt latch closure...

[Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

I'm not "caught up" in outgassing. Was "caught by", perhaps. It is a phenomenon, however. High temperatures accelerate the process. Indeed, that station wagon we had was parked in direct sunlight for unusually long times. The combination of heat and ultraviolet contributed to the decomposition...

I've given up on trying to figure out the BMS. I just drive and enjoy it, usually in <>200 mile chunks. Yeah, it can get a little pokey there. I remember being astounded at the blazing speeds when the first Hwy 75 in Dallas opened all 11 stalls. Hard to believe it's only been a little over 4 years. [Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

400 degrees? Where did you get that figure? Perhaps for an instantaneous effect, sure. The long term effects of temps from the 130-150s cannot have a salubrious effect on any plastic/organic matter, however. The same outgassing issue occurred in my MIL's Olds. It was left for years in New...

    Cabin Overheat Protection

"Normal behavior"? My vehicles, alas, live outside. They are items of convenience, they are tools. In previous vehicles, I have sheltered items, protected them...

Is there a pad located in proximity to the system? It may indeed not be immediately adjacent, although a long run of 480V at that current is not that desirable. There are stories of high power transformer supply issues nowadays.

    Cabin Overheat Protection

That may be true, but anything else in the car, the plastics and fabrics will appreciate not having to endure those temps.

    Cabin Overheat Protection

Put in a service ticket. This is a failure. At the moment you DO need to reset it each day, though, it will not engage unless you have driven it in the last 12 hours. I haven't documented how long it takes since the last drive. Stupid design.

    Cabin Overheat Protection

There's a similar thread elsewhere here, but certainly, ANY vehicle parked in the sun with windows up, etc . will see an inordinately high interior temperature and rather quickly. [Solved!] Cabin Overheat Protection not working when car sits

I fain would disagree. the interior of the car, mostly plastics, will outgas at those elevated temperatures. Even if you are a non smoker, ever wipe the interior glass and see you have removed a film? That's the outgassing of the synthetics in the car, outgassing is accelerated in high heat...

Interesting idea. I have a near terminal case of doordentophobia, and if there aren't any HC spaces available (they are wider and have safety zones), I will park in the boondocks and use my cane. What the hey, I need the exercise. I have not yet had the intestinal fortitude to try the Summon...

    2023 Model S is a disappointment.

Great. Now to operate the wipers you use a hand and then the screen. That ain't "simply". When before, a button press and done. Fishing around for a button to honk the horn? The last time that was tried was the late 40's Fords with the horn button down on the steering column. Stupid, stupid...

    I've always wanted a Model S.

There is absolutely no comparison between ANY Tesla and ANYTHING labeled Nissan. You would give up a car with over 250 miles range, Supercharging, and an American band made in America? There is simply no reason to consider anything from the Sons of Nippon rather than a Tesla.

Can I share a charger and have my neighbor bill me?

You can get an inline watthour meter from Amazon. Read the meter when you plug in, read it when you discharge. Consult the bill, determine the price per KWH, do the math. Might also share a litle in the fixed cost, all the add on crap you get on your bill in addition to the usage billing...

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

I had the first red Model 3 in my town, North of D/FW Airport. If another drove through, I would bark at it. One fine day a new one was parked at a local supermarket, I drove by and barked at it, and to further annoy my wife I said I was gonna <ahem> mark my territory on it. She was not amused...

Why do you like your Tesla?

I thought it referred to polarity/math. I used it in making Radio Frequency calculations for directional antennas. That and square roots of negative numbers. Why do you like your Tesla?

The way I look at it, the more users of S/Cs, the more will be built. Here in the Dallas area, except for the S/C on 75 North, I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, and it is rare to encounter a full house.
