    Supercharger - Destin, FL - US-98

You can charge (level 2) at Destin Commons for free. Last time I was there, one of the plugs wasn’t working, but three were working.

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

I used to enable/disable but since I’ve never run into an “uh-oh; shouldn’t have updated because of Ingenext incompatibilities”, I’ve stopped toggling back-and-forth. What I HAVE done is delayed the installation to see if someone else had the “uh-oh” experience.

Poll: How many are still using original 12V Battery that came with the car?

2020 Model 3 LR, received November 2019, 54K miles. Battery being replaced (for $118) in about 30 minutes by mobile tech.

    Supercharger - D'Iberville, MS

Subpar charging experience at D’Iberville Supercharger today. Model 3 was preconditioned on arrival; Supercharger wouldn’t charge faster than 60kW initially and even then very, very slowly ramped up to a maximum of 104kW. I arrived at <24% SOC. At least 3 charging cables didn’t work - at all...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Because it’s possible - hasn’t happened to me, but that doesn’t mean it can’t - but it’s possible a Tesla update could be incompatible with the Ingenext module rendering your car (temporarily we’d hope) undrivable or some necessary function inoperable. That’s why Ingenext has a dedicated page...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Yes, they’re safe to use. You can check the Ingenext website before upgrading Tesla software updates. It might take a week or two, but Ingenext will verify whether or not it’s safe. And you can always . . . take it out and revert to “stock”. You can look at the history here on TMC and see some...

    Supercharger - Gulf Breeze, FL

Depending on how low you’re comfortable with your SOC - and how long you want to wait at a level 2 - Juana’s Pagodas just across the Navarre causeway provides up to 3 hours of free charging. They have two 23-MPH level 2 chargers which are usually available. Within reasonable walking distance of...

    Supercharger - Gulf Breeze, FL

They might be “on” and they might be “hot”, but these Superchargers aren’t available for public use yet. Tried again today and still no joy. Maybe tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the next.

    Supercharger - Gulf Breeze, FL

I tried it yesterday, too. Reported “Supercharger stall out of service”. Hopefully activated soon.

    Unlock On Approach Behavior

Could be the other owner has the Ingenext module. That enables the car to detect the linked phone, flash the lights, and auto open (just enough to open the door) on approach, which can be adjusted for distance. It’s pretty neat.

Anyone bought a desk for the M3? Aliexpress has them at 50£ (Or 25 + 25 shipping). Are they worth it?

Your rates may vary, but here in the States, shipping is twice the cost of the item itself.

    Frunk pad?

These are available from a number of vendors on AliExpress. The biggest complaint seems to be they arrive folded (which is to be expected) and the “seam” where the fold(s) was (were) make the installation uneven. If ordering from AliExpress or eBay, I’d expect to have to place them under a large...

Scratched my wheel cover bad, what should I replace it with?

www.zinkwheels.com I scratched mine (the wheel, not a cover) and ”fixed” it with one of their kits. Challenged my wife to tell me which wheel and where the scratch was - and it was VERY obvious pre-fix - and she couldn’t find it. YMMV of course.

Upsell my M3 AWD and replace with a M3P?

One other consideration - and there will undoubtedly be “shoot the messenger” replies - is you’re supposed to report the gain on your Federal income tax return. It’s a short-term capital gain, taxed as “ordinary income”. Not my fault; just passing along information which may be helpful to...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Yes. If all you want is better acceleration, that’s the default. If you never connect to the web interface you’ll never even see the other options. Acceleration boost isn’t selectable; once the module is installed it’s always “on”.

Ingenext passes on the customs fees; UPS will collect them either before delivery or you can pay the driver. Additional $65.25 for me (LR boost module, LHD Model 3, 990 motors). Still think it’s worth it; understand not everyone will agree.

What is it with ICE truck drivers? Is it just me.....?

While I haven’t followed you or personally observed your driving, I suspect it’s not you. Here in the Florida panhandle jacked-up large trucks are driven very aggressively and some of the drivers seem to take it as a personal affront to SEE a Tesla. Not all of them, of course. I was coal-rolled...

Firearm storage model 3 [and other firearms discussion]

If you REALLY believe you’re being censored - and I’ll note, I’m actually reading your comment, so . . . “censorship” hasn’t happened, then put your money where your mouth is and quit the forum. I support the right to have a firearm - and carry one frequently in my Model 3, but I’m tired of -...

    Electrify America with Model 3

I noticed it a couple of months ago and drove over to it to see if there were any J1772 plugs. If there are, I couldn’t find any. Also, the price seemed REALLY high, so I didn’t file it away for “use this later”. I left feeling the same - disappointed.

How is your white interior doing?

I thought about that before I bought them. These are essentially just towels with a “pocket” to fit over the headrest. These aren’t traditional seat covers that form fit over the entire seat. The side impact airbags will just blow past these things. They do have little rubber bumps to keep them...

    Reduced camera visibility in snow

I applied Rain-X to all my windows, including the windshield where the front-facing cameras are and have had no issues with autopilot. It rained really hard here yesterday and I used autopilot on the way to the Tesla Service Center. Rain was beading off well enough that I didn’t even use the...

    Pensacola Service Center

If you don't mind driving ~25 miles, there's a Tesla charger - in fact, two - at Juana's Pagodas just across the Navarre Beach causeway. Open to the public, free, and they charge at a rate of 23 miles per hour. It's no Supercharger, but the price is right. Also, Plugshare lists "Phil Ehr's...

    Unusual Quick Delivery?

I was surprised when I ordered and received my Model 3, too. I ordered a white/white dual motor Model 3 with 19” silver wheels and was hoping I’d get it before the end of 2019 (and thus eligible for a reduced but still welcome federal tax credit). I ordered it on November 9th. I was very much...

    2020.4 Anything New?

Range at 100% charge now shows 322 miles. To be absolutely clear, what I mean is, “when I slide the range slider to 100% in the charging section of the app on my Galaxy S10 or my iPad, range shows 322 miles.” 2020 Tesla Model 3, dual motor, 19” silver wheels.
  43. kevinhanff

Tax Credit Does a 2020 model delivered prior to 12/31/19 qualify?

The model year is irrelevant. The date “placed in service” is what’s important, and as long as it was in 2019, a model “year” 2020 Tesla qualifies for a potential tax credit.

    Do you use your frunk?

Perfect storage space for Costco/Sam’sClub rotisserie chicken(s) to take home. I even have a box to put them in to capture any spillage (and a frunk mat for backup).
