2024 US model Y rwd battery type and size

Do we think they are using the mid-range model 3 pack architecture again with panasonic cells for 2024 to achieve compliance with the credit? that was a 65 kwh pack, then they wouldn't have to tool up a bunch of new parts? perhaps we can ask some questions of the inventory cars for 2024 model...

    Charging in a rainstorm

I charged multiple times in what I would consider a massive downpour in florida (soaked door and shirt after 5 seconds outside) without any disconnect issues at all. May have been that specific plug.

    Sad sad battery

just so you all know, there is some data about how the BMS works in the tesla service manual. it's pretty clear, and with SMT, you can look at max/min cell group imbalance. If you have a cell imbalance above .005v, the BMS does enable top balancing of the pack above 85% SOC, and the service...

    Model 3 Track Mode V2...RIP BMW M3

My bet is that the people in this thread that truly believe the model 3 is a track day monster, have never done a track day with the car to realize the reality, have never tracked another modified car. They also probably believe hpde events are “races” and when they pass a guy in a Ferrari in...

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

@scottf200 I just ended up downloading the file and re-plotting the data myself because I wanted to make sure I understood what was being shown. but yes, I used the teslafi range assumptions.

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

@scottf200 , I did something similar to what you did for the survey data and plotted my data points from teslafi against the chart.. Thought this would be interesting to see to understand relative to all reported data I have access to.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

8% loss at that mileage/age seems high to me, I have 15,000 miles and full range estimate is currently at 301 (3%?) (P3d-), delivery august 2019. One thing I have noticed is I think teslafi does seem to mess up the math when the battery is cold and the available charge is a percent lower on...

Data on Cold Weather Range Decrease

This is a very important point. Due to this it might be beneficial for COLD temperature long distance travel to have AWD, if the on route warming capability is more than halved with the LR RWD. I have not had the inconsistency of supercharger speeds others report in the winter, which may be...

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

@AlanSubie4Life Thank you for this detailed analysis. I've been lurking your comments in this forum and after looking at a bunch of data, I think you have a very solid hypothesis with good data to support it. I posted primarily to add my info to the discussion, I am not concerned about my...

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

Incorrect Speed Limits + Autopilot = Sad Tesla

The speed limits I believe can be fixed by making an update to openstreetmaps If you can tell me the streets and exact location, I can verify signs with google maps and make the update. People were using this to update the summon features and I just used it to fix some roads I use every day.

    Charging Concerns; Challenging Townhome Situation

If it's modern construction, the wire gauge may be sufficient for a 5-20 outlet, which looks like this picture i've attached. On the model 3 with the correct adapter for this plug, you can get 6-7 miles per hour of charge. This is what I use when I visit my family, who had the garage redone in...

I need some convincing re: M3 Performance

I only drove manual transmission cars since getting my licence at 16. I've had modified subarus, and still have a modified c5 corvette. I got the p3d- in the fall of this year, and it was such a game changer, when I got back in my corvette, I thought it was broken. It made a bunch of noise, and...

Disappointing traction control - is it me?

Thanks for writing this post. I'm in michigan and I agree, the car is far worse than my wife's 2011 G37x in the snow. Heavy bias to rear motor use, almost a half second delay until front motor engages to help. Perhaps software update can make this reasonable, but right now, I totally agree with...
