Tanking looks more like those expecting a major beat selling when it didn't happen. Need to see the slide deck and listen to the call... re-affirming guidance of 50% delivery growth (not production) will likely be more important than these numbers.

It is really all speculation, but I think it is safe to say Elon can get the money if he's filing this. I tend to agree with this. The writing was on the wall that they were likely to lose the case and a merger would be forced. Any discount on that likely wasn't worth the pain this may cause.

Elon is likely restricted from selling until after earnings as he has material information. If there is a dump from Elon, that would likely (unless a plan was already filed) a few days after earnings. This is the market taking some risk off the table in preparation. To me this is clearly good...

It is really their last grasp. If they can't break the will over the winter and then win a spring counter offensive, they'll lose pretty quickly in April/May. If they can win a counter offensive, it will get even uglier.

That is what the market expected today and it didn't happen.

They know that, but that doesn't mean they are going to lie down right now. They are much more likely to continue to escalate in an attempt to break the West's will on arming and funding Ukraine. I'd expect the winter will be pretty rough in that area.

GDP officially negative for 2 quarters, and jobs came in strong... the latter meaning the Fed will continue to raise rates aggressively (they said they need the job market to tumble).

Tesla has held up better than most of the market because of the relative strength of the company and growth. But to think that recession can't possibly hurt the growth is a bit blind to the reality on the ground. I think Tesla will be fine and weather this better than almost any other company...

One of the reasons the margin is where it is, is the simplified product mix. Having 3-4 different models that fill the same basic market just adds to the cost without really adding to demand.

With the timing it would be more Bullard than Powell... but it seems to me it is more of a strong resistance and failure to break more than a news sort of day. Decent chance that if we slip below 10750, that a re-test of 10,600 happens.

Market went right up to the 11k and 3700 resistance points and got batted down. Likely going to need some positive economic news to push through those areas.

The majority of revisions prior to earnings tend to happen after P&D.

I would say deflation is a legitimate risk to the US economy. The US economy doesn't handle deflation very well at all historically. Brief, short periods of it would be welcomed... 6 months or a year of it would likely cause some major issues. I think there are legitimate economic worries out...

That'll probably start on Tuesday (unless the rumors of issues on sales in China continue)... this week is more about blood in the water and panic.

Market is showing some support at these levels as they'd indicate a double bottom. It will re-test at some point either today or early next week, and how it holds (or doesn't) will likely set the course for the next couple weeks.

Dow broke it earlier today too.

And 10,800 has broken... we're very likely to re-test June lows.

Bond market has gone insane... if there is hope that this dip will turn around next week, it is that cooler heads will prevail there.

The slap down at close was a sign I guess. 10,800 has to hold for the nasdaq or we will re-test lows. Who knows what ends up happening there… If we get a rejection and recovery, would be a large double bottom. But new lows are certainly possible right now.

Now that is better! At least getting a close above 11,100 would be good. Breaking the 11,140 range would setup tomorrow decently well.

We will see... normally the more support is tested and the weaker the rejections... the more likely it is to break. This is a weaker rejection than the one we saw earlier today. Traditionally, not a great sign.

Here's the second test of support of the day... really need a stronger rejection this time around.
