I use an iPhone SE (I know... one of the most technological cars, but least "technological" phones...), and for what it's worth, I had never had any issues with the phone unlocking the car when I approached UNTIL I recently updated to 20.12.1 in my car. I'm pretty disappointed, to say the least.

On that note, does anyone know if you can skip versions? To clarify, let's say I'm on version x, and I get an update that version y is ready for download (but people are saying it's no good), but then z comes out... do I need to download y and then z, or will I be able to skip the interim...

No. I want to say that it keeps 10 minutes of "recent" footage, and otherwise you have to hit save before it is overwritten. How soon after did you check the USB drive? Did you hit save?

I agree with needp3d - Installing it yourself is on par with installing a screen protector on a phone, except it's even more forgiving with the carbon fiber material.
