MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

Definitely, there is a deadline to a max charge / regen power 0 kW when the pack temp is under 0 °C. No regen (0 kW) today at 60 % SoC and 0 °C. You are right, it should be OK if a new pack is heated to 20 °C due to lithium plating. But why 40 °C with 0.15C? The car is now sleeping at 99 % SoC...

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

I got my OBD cable and I tried to charge the E5D LG pack to 100 % (or charge complete) on my 11 kW AC wall box. What is very interesting that the battery resistive heaters (via front and rear stators) were running about 50 % of charging time, when SoC > 70 %, at 7 kW of Joule heating. It has a...

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

    Maybe can be interesting for somebody here - my LG pack charging curve (6 % SoC to 90 % SoC) on 150 kW UFC with the latest firmware 2020.48.30. E5D charging on 150 kW CCS 20%-40%: 8:21 20%-50%: 13:22 20%-60%: 19:23 20%-70%: 27:00 20%-80%: 36:06 20%-90%: 48:09

    Hahaha. I paid 70 000USD for my Model 3 and I expected well-known properties. These I didn't get.

Probably you don´t see my Teslalogger. It is the best curve in the whole fleet. I don't have any TSLA and I'm only reporting what I'm seeing. Definitely, if I know, that the pack is built in China and then shipped to the USA and then shipped to the EU, I will reject the car just because of this...

Video details corrected. Teslalogger is correct, I'm waiting for a CAN Bus cable. Discharging performance = car has much worse performance on lower SoC than our 2020 Pana.

Finally got my battery label on E5D EU LR delivered on 12/2020 build in Fremont, USA. Not very happy with the battery charging/discharging performance. And a surprise? Whole battery pack made in CHINA. My degradation curve My video

It is coming from preliminary EPA - 137 Wh/km (13.7 kWh / 100 km). Merry Christmas.

Check the german google doc table, looks like there are LG TM3P also. Or maybe only 77 kWh in the docs. Does anyone here have a 77 kWh TM3P with scanmytesla app?

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

My car is manufactured in Fremont, but has the smaller battery pack with up to 50% worse charging performance than 2019 Panasonic pack. The charging curve is exactly same as chinese LG Chem (sold as TM3 LR in China). What do you think about that? I'm very disappointed.

E5D odo 2000km fw 2020.44.25 charging curve - 150 kW charger, preconditioned: After update to fw 2020.48.12.1 This really doesn't look like Panasonic NCA. This is not what we know.

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

Got a reply from the Tesla store manager: "The battery supplier is not specified when ordering the car, so it is not possible to say that you ordered a car with a Panasonic battery.".

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

I think you are correct. My speculation is, that if Panasonic announced cells with a 5% increase in energy density - why they should, in time between, manufacture cells with 5% decrease compared to 2018 cells. I think that Tesla staff don't know about LG Chem used in Fremont. Also, the charging...

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

The car is built in top quality, efficiency is very high and the car has absolutely no issues. I have a reply from Tesla, that I have a Panasonic battery pack.

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

Sorry about that, I'm concerned about NMC 811. I wrote to Tesla and they reply, that in my car E5D is a Panasonic NCA battery. I hope that it is true and they will solve the charging speed with OTA.

    E3D & E5D for Model 3 LR 2021 - Battery mess

It looks, that Tesla is lying and supplying EU LR21 with a china NMC 811 LG Chem battery. I don't want this unstable chemistry! The only benefit is a low price - for Tesla. About 60% slower charging speed and no information about lifecycle...
