I think there are several sides to the 25k car idea. Most are assuming a smaller/cheaper car, but I think that is quite likely two separate things. 1. A model 3 single motor with single castings (like the Y), SR trim, LFP battery could end up being very cheap for them to produce as a low cost...

On iOS, I had to logout of the Tesla app and login in again. Safety score showed up then.

I have seen this recently too. Isn’t it a “speed limit changes” warning of some kind? Seems to do it for me when the mapped speed limit changes (not when it sees a sign)

I was wondering if anyone had retrofitted the new Tesla power trunk using official parts, since it is now in the model 3.

Since it is the DIY version that just activates the existing speakers, there is no 12v or ground needed. The instructions talk about it, but thats because those instructions are also for another version. There are no power requirements - which makes it easier to install, too.

I installed my DIY version last night in my March 2020 Model 3 SR+ (luckily it was built at the end of Feb, so it has rear speakers). No problem on the install at all. Sound quality is much better. Haven’t noted any downsides at all yet. Volume is fine, no problems at all. Recommended!

It might be worth ordering the speakers. There’s a part number in that teslatap link on the first page of this thread. Of course you might need a few wires from those speakers to the plug in the harness at the rear side, but it shouldn’t be super-hard to do.

I ordered the $80 DIY version. I didn’t get a confirmation email either. Too bad I didn’t see that other 10% off beforehand. I have two rear shelf speaker grilles on my Mar 2020 M3 SR+. Shining a light through the back window I can see a speaker. Looking underneath the shelf you can’t tell...

Red paint costs more. The dye I think. If you just go to buy professional paint from a paint store, the price varies on the color. Red is more expensive than white. That’s without any other things like metallic etc.

The DIY version does look pretty simple. My 3 is from March 2020. I think I’ll use a light to see if the speakers are really still there before I order though....just in case they further economized.

If you were on a tiered rate (rather than TOU Time of Use), I can believe it. I used to be (CA - PG&E) also. This will push you into the higher rate tiers that are insane. Now you are on EV plan, I think that will help you a lot (vs tiered). Even a TOU is going to be better than tiered...

All my supercharging (2 places) on delivery day were free and never showed up in history ( model 3). History tab only appeared later, and those charges never did.

I believe you will be OK with 6/3 Romex as 6 gauge should handle *up to* 60A in future. I did my NEMA 14-50 myself with 50A breaker and 6/3 Romex with a plan that I could add the Tesla wall charger in future. Now I have 30 miles/hour charge, I don’t see why I’d bother with the Tesla charger -...

I agree. Get another quote/layout from somewhere else. Its odd they didn’t utilise the south-east facing roof. Also, other installers can probably put a few different sized panels (like the taller higher wattage ones) in to get more out of it. I installed my own Enphase system which works well...

Yeah, that works I suppose for now, but then it isn't doing it for me! I've had to do that on a couple of "you are about to crash into a shadow of a tree" phantom braking incidents in the evenings!

This update has really made changes to rural windy road driving in my 2020 M3. As an example, a "non speed limit", \ badly mapped road in California where I'd normally be limited to 45mph for auto pilot - I used to let it rip a long at 45mph, then manually have to slow it for particular bends...

My March 2020 SR+ (aero wheels) shows 244 miles if I slide it over to 100% (currently charged to less). 2020.16.2.1

I live in a place with speed bumps also. They are painted (although I don’t know how ‘standard’ that is). No stop signs near ours, so I always have to scroll the speed back and forth (back to 20mph in my case for the bumps). I’d like to see it become bump-aware too.

I downloaded an hour ago. The maps happened after the software had finished (I didn’t see that happening). Just went for a quick drive. It works great for stop signs!!

Mine just stayed there and didn't look like it was complete. Once I got my VIN it allowed me to click to apply for Tesla insurance.
